Just like everyone else who is looking to get their first tattoo, I checked out a bunch of local tattoo shops to try and decide which artist would best fit my needs. I checked dozens of reviews, walked in to a few shops, DM’d a bunch of artists ect..After researching for quite some time, I stumbled upon a young up and coming tattoo artist named Edwin Rios who was working out of a shop in Somers Point at the time. His portfolio included high quality realism and b&w tattoos in a style that drew my attention and were exactly what I had in mind. After talking, booking, and getting my first tat by Edwin, I knew that this man would be my only artist that I would ink my skin. Fast forward a few years…Ed now heads a shop—Rose Ink Studios in Absecon, NJ. This is by far the cleanest, most talented, and most professional group of artists I’ve ever had the pleasure to chat with. If my memory serves me right, I’ve been lucky enough to have had 6 or 7 sessions with Ed, with each time being an even better experience. It’s like hanging out and catching up with an old friend every time. Getting a new tattoo at RIS is always a genuine experience that I look forward to months in advance.If you ever get the pleasure of booking a tattoo with Edwin, just know you’ve made the best decision you could have possibly made. I made an appointment back in July, paid my $100 deposit and had to cancel last minute due to financial obligations. That was my bad and I never asked for the nonrefundable deposit back because I respect rules. However, I've messaged two different artists within the past couple weeks willing to leave another deposit and schedule and noone has gotten back to me. The artists receive excellent reviews on their work and I'm certain they are very talented however, a lot needs to be said for courtesy, professionalism and couth. Humble yourselves a little. I'll take my business elsewhere. Thank you.

Love this place and art they produce. Have been blessed enough to get tatted by Edwin a few times and have always been happy with the work and quality of my tattoos. My most recent one, the time and effort he put in for the details was unmatched. Edwin has always been professional and does a great job making recommendations for you to ensure your getting the most out of his work. The shop is clean and sanitation is taken serious to ensure your getting the best experience. When I walked into the shop I was excitedly greeted by another artist to make me feel like I was in the right shop dispute getting tattooed by someone else. I even got to experience how proud each artist is about the quality of their work and how much love they show one another.
