Tortoise Town Turtle Store — Local services in Egg Harbor Township

Please read this and don’t order from this company or their other name which is CB Reptiles. They only care about making money and are very deceptive. I placed an order, received a call over a week later asking if I would just buy something they had in stock. I refused and they said I could just wait until they got some in stock, oh yea they couldn’t give me any time frame on when that would be. When I found another breeder I tried to cancel my order and all of the sudden I get a call that they are shipping me what I asked for. The order was not shipped from NJ it was shipped from Florida. I have no idea if this was just plucked from the wild or if it was actually CB. I read all the 5 star reviews on their website and thought they were a reputable company. I have been lied to by customer service and when I called them out I was told they didn’t want to lose a sale. Please think twice about giving them any business!

Replying to your comment since you asked. I was told on a Monday that you were out of stock and there was not a time frame on when stock would be replenished. I started looking for other breeders and came across the CB reptile site. I called the number and asked if they were 100% sure that they had my item in stock to which the reply was yes. I went onto the website to order and my same information flooded in from the tortoise town site so I called back and asked if you were the same entity I was told yes I said OK so on Monday you said things were out of stock. I call on Wednesday and you tell me that 100% it is in stock to which the reply was my boss says to say that, so we don’t lose a sale.because I was lied too I canceled the order and found yet another breeder after I canceled miraculously an item was produced and a shipping label was created. So now I’m left to cancel the order with the other breeder which cost me 20% of the order not to mention the tortoise that I received is sick so I’m spending my whole Monday trying to find a vet because it’s eyes are swollen very very, very poor business practice. I hope someone puts you out of business, these poor pets...

Please read this before purchasing from the website and their other website CB Reptiles. They’re the same company. We learned this because at first we were looking for box turtles. Tortoise town didn’t have any and I got on the waitlist for box turtles. We ordered from CB reptiles instead and ordered a different turtle breed. Once the order went through, they keep giving us the run around so once tortoise town notified me that box turtles were available, we purchased two of them since that’s what we originally wanted anyways. Then boom, we got a text notification that the order has been placed but it was under the same number from cb reptiles. So I sent them a picture of the messages asking them if they were the same company and they said yes! Okay. We want a refund! That’s a whole different issue and then boom, from tortoise town website, we finally got an email with a tracking number after two weeks. We ordered two from them and one showed up to the house. I’m so freaking pissed because now they’re MIA. They’re refusing to answer. In total, we paid for 3 turtles and we only got one. Where are the other...

I unfortunately did not have a positive experience. My son has wanted a turtle for years and I was finally able to get him a turtle from what I thought was a reputable place. After receiving the turtle she was very shy, barely came out of her shell. I tried numerous foods for her, but she would not eat. I even put her with my more mature turtles to try to help, but nothing helped. She passed after 9-days. I contacted Brieanna and she said there was nothing they could do because of their 7-day health guarantee. It was 2-days past the 7-days but they would not help me. My son is very upset losing his baby turtle named “Tails” and I am also, as I spent a lot of time and money trying to keep this baby healthy. I would think a reputable company would work with someone like us in this situation and it’s very unfortunate they would not. Just beware if you are in a similar situation.
