It's a community college... Basically if you didn't pay your dues In Highschool or you can't afford traditional higher education at a state school you end up here. The tech center is pretty good and their Griffin center is pretty nice. Parking is a nightmare. You will notice after 4 weeks it into every semester the attendance just drops off. The faculty is pretty good. I would give them a 4/5 but the classes they offer is a little disappointing.

I've been a student at Grossmont College for three years now; I took classes at different colleges, but I didn't receive the education I received here. Most the instructors are well prepared and care about the learning of the student and the learning outcome more than the grade; because of course, grade is not everything! As of fall of 2018, I have taken a total of 101 units for different majors, and they were amazing.

Having just graduated from Grossmont I can say that they seem to care little about providing the resources you would expect at a college. Classes are mostly online and they close the library after 4pm, so you’re out of luck if you want somewhere to study before a evening class. The outdoor seating areas are not cleaned for several days in a row. All around the place is a ghost town with few resources or opportunities.

Currently a student here trying to get into the nursing program to get my ADN and hopefully finish my bachelors at state.

Grossmont is an alright school if you know how to research on your own to find out what classes you need to take & do your research on professors before registering for classes.

The school in itself is decently sized for a community college, there’s many different areas both indoors and outdoors to spend time between classes or study.

Tuition costs cover tutoring which you can access either by going to the tutoring center (no appointment needed as long as it’s open) or by setting up an appointment online for individual tutoring.

The two main things that I dislike about the school is that parking is a nightmare to say the least & the financial aid office is ran by STUDENTS who don’t know what they’re doing. I spent a whole year having to pay out of pocket for classes despite being eligible for financial aid because the students at the office couldn’t figure out why the school wasn’t receiving my FAFSA application after it had already been successfully proccessed on the FAFSA website for weeks. I tried many times to set up an appointment with a financial aid counselor, but they insisted to just wait or attend a financial aid workshop first. I attended the workshop, where it was confirmed that I needed to talk to a counselor to get help, Just like I had been saying all along.

I eventually got my financial aid and all the costs I spent got refunded, but I honestly believe that if I hadn’t been so persistent I would probably still be playing their little...

If I could give this school zero stars I would. First let's talk about how I applied for financial aid months ago and apparently was denied but was never notified so that I could apply for an unsubsidized loan! Then when I went in to talk to Financial aid they informed me that it takes 6-8 week for the unsubsidized to be processed and that since classes start before then I would have to make a payment plan. When trying to make a payment plan they want half of my tuition down which is $1,400 (out of state tuition)! Tell me how someone who is needing financial aid can pay that much out of pocket. So I attempted to speak with someone in admissions about my issue and see if there was something they could do, this was Wednesday and the gal said I could speak to the VP of student services to see if they would lower the payment. I left a voicemail for the VP of student services with no response so then I contacted admissions again on Monday (today) and the gal that was helping me tells me there isn't anything they could do and if I wanted to start school on August 22 that I would have to make the payment by August 11. Mind you the fist lady said I could speak to the VP of student services and she might be able to help me but now this lady is telling me no and that there is no one else to talk to about the situation.

You would think that since they would be getting 4 times the amount of tuition off of me that they would try and help me get situated but they clearly don't care. I will be waiting until next semester and taking my business to San Diego...

Remember "no student left behind", well obviously that doesn't apply to this school.

I wish I had never spent my time and money here for continuing education.

First, online, they claim they have badminton scholarship and when I inquired about it, financial aid and the coach had no clue about the scholarship.

Second, the professors I've had (specifically in Psychology and Science classes that I have registered in) claims to have been teaching for severals of years. Yet, the way they run the class and homeworks and schedule shows no improvement in their years of teaching.

It seems as if there is no teaching management here...... the higher up doesn't seem to maintain their staff to do their job as teachers. Im saying this beacuse literally all the professors I've had strongly acts like they don't give a damn whether you get A, B, C, or D, or F. THEY DO NOT BOTHER TO HELP YOU SUCCEED. They do not give you feed back on your work. No help at all. They just grade right or wrong. They do not care. You ask your professor for help, they are grumpy. They pass you down to tutors if you dont get a lesson.

These professors only care about the money they earn not the future of these students. They forget that students are here to learn not to be shoved over just because class time expired.

More over, the system WILEY PLUS on blackboard is inefficient to use.

This school is causing me full of...
