I recently discovered this park commemorating those servicemen and servicewomen that have served in the causes of freedom, liberty, and especially humanity. The areas showed the diversity of time and locations served. The entrance showed two significant sights ( and sites ), the statue of liberty and the flag of Texas, both of which represent home for me. The representations of women who have served, and the branches of the services were worth the trip. Even more significant ( for me ) was the map of Korea ( listed as the forgotten war ). I was able to see where my father had served in Korea at the end of the second world war. The headmaster of the school where I was administrative instructor ( including martial arts ) awarded my father an honorary black belt on his birthday. A good friend of his ( who was Korean ) was duly impressed by the certificate of recognition for his service to Korea.
