When the strap of my embroidered leather crossbody purse began to deteriorate, I asked my aunt (Nazneen) if she could help me replace the strap. After opening up the seam and inspecting the lining, my aunt decided it was time for a total makeover. Taking care to incorporate the embroidered leather panels of the original purse, she recreated the purse using leather that perfectly matched the gold and brown tones of the original. Since I was set to leave for a family trip to Europe in a couple of days, my aunt put her preparations for her many art shows and purse orders on hold in order to make my purse from start to finish—something for which I can never thank her enough. The finished product was perfect and very versatile. It was spacious enough to hold a notebook and small water bottle (along with other essentials for a day of exploring) but lightweight enough for everyday use (i.e. to hold my phone and wallet). It had high quality zippers on the three main pockets. My aunt also created two inner pockets within the biggest pocket so that small items wouldn’t get lost—a major improvement on the original!

I wore my new purse with pride during its six-week ‘debut’ in Europe. It has traveled with me to 7 countries and over 15 cities.
