So, after moving to Traverse City (and being the fall fan that I am) I have been disappointed that there aren't really apple orchard/cider mills up here. Down state I was within a 30 minute drive of 4. So, I've been on the hunt. Found out about Ghallaghers by word of mouth and my husband and I decided to go. I was impressed with their cute little shop and their variety of doughnuts! The pumpkin spice ones are to die for and their apple cider is really good. It is world's different than Longs farm down state where you can see the doughnuts being made and eating them hot and fresh, but this satisfied my craving. This farm and farm stand is a hidden gem! It offers a wonderful mix of fresh, local produce, delicious homemade pies, jams, and even frozen vegetables and meats. The selection is fantastic and everything tastes like it was made with care.

What makes this place extra special is the experience — not just the food. The farm animals (pigs, goats, chickens) are a delight, especially for kids, and the “you-pick” strawberries and raspberries are a fun seasonal activity for the whole family. There’s also a charming play area with a sandbox that keeps little ones entertained while the adults shop or relax.

It’s a perfect stop for fresh food, a fun outing, or just enjoying a bit of country charm....

Great little farm market with a nice variety—fresh veggies, fruit, jams, pies, donuts, mums, and even some refrigerated items. We tried the donuts (delicious!) and picked up some apples, which were also very good. The staff was polite, though not especially warm, and joking or small talk doesn’t really seem to be part of the experience here. That seems to be common with many businesses in the area—when you’re busy and successful, friendliness may not be the focus. Would I stop in again? Yes, most likely. Next time I’ll simply plan to shop and enjoy the products without expecting much...
