On the Chamber and Engineer's maps, Route 6 from Elyria to Vermillion is marked as a popular cycling trail. Beautiful beach fronts and the Black River gave respit on the very hot Summer day I biked. The trail and sidewalks do disappear and the popular cycling trail merges into SR 6, a very busy route that gives little for shared used of car and bike. But I made it back safe and yes, I enjoyed all the scenery.
