I took my makita chainsaw (less than two years old) there because the oiler was not working. I looked them up online and they were the closes Makita authorized service center, so I drove the extra distance to drop my saw off with them thinking they would be the most familiar with that saw. They called me back the next week to tell me it would cost $130 to fix the oiler on my saw (the saw cost $200 new). I agreed to the $130 in the interests of getting my saw up and running quickly despite knowing that they were fluffing up labor times and overcharging for parts, I justified it to myself because they were an authorized service center. I called A MONTH later and the owner answered after four calls over the course of 2 days. Many of their calls get switched over to a fax line. The owner sounded confused and said "Im gonna have to rethink that whole deal. That's a weird saw." He explained that he was having trouble getting parts (which are readily available on ebay). I told him if he was unable to get the parts, then he could put it back together and I would come pick it up. He called to tell me it was back together (without any further attempt to find parts). I went to pick up the saw and the owner told me the bill was $30. When i questioned the bill since he had failed to fix it, been unable to procure widely available parts and demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge about the saw, he replied "You take your saw and don't come back!" I did. I have never refused to pay someone for their work in my entire life, but the sheer laziness, incompetence and greed of this man was mind boggling. He represented himself as an authorized service center, was unable to get commonly available parts, knew nothing about the saw AND wasted a month of my time AND was almost completely unreachable via telephone....
