If anyone is reading this before they do business here, do NOT use this place. The only part of dealing with these people that went smoothly was them taking my 70 year old mothers money. And for absolutely nothing. Ill explain... i took my mother to get a new wood stove here. At first, everything seemed ok..dealing with the initial sales lady went just fine, my mother picked out a stove, ordered it and payed almost 4 thousand dollars. Then, crickets. So she calls them..they say the stove is on order and gave her an install date. Flat out lie. Install date comes and goes, no call from this place. My mother calls back.. oh were sorry, heres a new shipping date for the stove and a new install date. That day comes and goes with absolutely zero communication. So she calls again....they give her the same song and dance. Now before i try and take over for her, because at this point shes so upset she cant even talk to them, i call my lawyer who happens to be the smartest person on the planet. These people absolutely to the letter of the law, committed multiple false and deceptive business practices, and i was informed if they gave my mother a hard time, we had extremely strong grounds for up to triple damages due to their horrible way of doing business. So i call. I speak to John, who seemed like he genuinely cared about how my mother was being treated, i find out later that is all a part of these people's scam. John tells me he has a new shipping date for the stove and wants to schedule another install date. What i found out through multiple back and forths with them is that they have something going on with their distributors that they would not release the stove from the warehouse this entire time and these people were lying to my mother the whole time. My guess is they owe so many people money that they have a balance owed to their distributors and they are being held up for that. Then John tells me they finally got the distributor to "release" the stove, and i will be called wednesday to confirm if the stove is shipping out that friday. No call wednesday. So i call thursday to get my mother her money back. Now this was a crap show right from the get go. I was told i needed to talk to the owner i think his name is Jim or James...John tells me hes going to go tell him i need to speak with him. John comes back a few minutes later while im waiting on hold, and says the owner refused to talk to me, and says we need to pay a 25% restocking fee FOR A STOVE THAT NEVER EVEN LEFT THE WAREHOUSE. Nice try. Now mind you John told me the owner was on the property, knew there was a problem, knew i wanted to speak to him, and he flat out said no. So i talk to some lady manager who tries to lie and say she cant issue a refund without speaking to accounting first. Total lie. So i say, no way...my mother paid almost 4 thousand dollars for something she never got, and as far as we all knew, was never going to actually ship out because of whatever accounting or money issue these people have. So she says she cant do a refund. Finally that was enough...i told her that she could either give my mother a full refund now for the money she was scammed out of, or they could pay her triple the price of the stove in court. That immediately changed her tune and she issued the full refund. This was a total nightmare from the second the money left my mothers account. Do not give these people your money. Go to the stove shop in Hampton, NH off route 1, or ANY other place than this. These people are bad, i dont know how else to say it. The fact that would treat a 70 year old widowed woman who is a saint by every definition the word, like this, they should go out of business. Its disgusting. Now before anyone replies to this, and tries to rebut anything i said, i have every single bit of the proof to back up what i said. Im not a dummy, from the very beginning we kept a detailed record of everything they said to us, every false promise, every slip up they said trying to lie. Read moreThis has been the worst experience. In early July 24’ we bought a Ironstrike Montlake 300 wood burning insert with installation for 7200$. We were replacing a 20 year old insert. I wish I never set foot in the Fire House Stove Shop. Jeff lies. He said he could install it in 3 weeks. It took 2 months. He said he was at every instal and he never came once. He said his trucks were mobile machine shops. His people came unprepared and without even the basic tools, work gloves or a flashlight. The second crew actually barrow tools from me. They didn’t even level the insert and left it an inch out from the wall. Jeff gave excuses of he had to go to the hospital, his high blood pressure, Covid manufacturing delays and blurred photos. The stove makes banging noises and has a flaw in the cast iron top. He won’t even come look at it. His people just keep telling me that my claim has been denied because the photos are blurry. I’ve sent them by phone and computer. They are not blurry. Once he has your money there is ZERO support or communication. Once in a fit of anger he hung up on me. This is just the worst. Save yourself a hassle and go elsewhere. UPDATE: I spoke with Jeff on October 31. He told me that he was the boss and he could do what he wanted. Promised me he would make it right. Today is November 8 and when I called I was told that they were waiting for a review. Go somewhere else! UPDATE: November 15th. I found out today that the new parts are at the store and I have been scheduled for service on December 4th at “first thing in the morning”. When they came to install the stove “first thing in the morning “ was 10:30. I was not contacted to confirm this time or date. If I refuse the service time the next available date is in 2025. Stove still makes funny sounds and loud banging noise. Today Dec 4th 2024 both fans were replaced. They made the problem worse. The rattling is so loud you can’t sit in the room with the stove on. Jeff is still lying. Said his man would stay and start a fire. He wouldn’t. On the phone his service person said she couldn’t even hear me over the stove but Jeff said he has hearing loss so he can’t but he said he can diagnose it over the phone. I asked for my money back. HE SAID NO! He did finally show up to the house and took a side panel off and stoped the horrible noise. He said he would order another one. He also said I should not just burn oak. UPDATE: January 31 2025 Today they came and put a replacement side panel back on the stove. It has been removed since 4 December. They also added some touch up paint and are now demanding 175$ for labor. I said no way was I paying. I will be...
Read moreJust purchased a new Regency Hampton pellet stove insert. It was installed Friday. From the get-go it has been nothing but a complete disaster s* show. I have had the stove now for 4 days. Every time I would bring a problem to the attention of the proprietor of the store where I purchased. He always tried to flip the blame onto me. They installed not me, It just does not work properly now things are breaking once again he says you must have done something wrong this just don't happen. In my opinion right now the only thing I did wrong was handing over $6,000 to this man. Being a senior citizen trying to keep warm at night. Tonight it broke down during business hours he would not accommodate me. Despite having a wife also a senior with underlying health issues. I took out a perfectly good Hammond pellet stove insert that I personally installed 12 years ago never an issue. I replaced it with a regency pellet insert. I am sorry I went to the Firehouse Stove Shoppe in Epping, New Hampshire. Fortunately for me I was able to get the stove running tonight. I went in there bringing problems to their attention, a complete stranger, another customer intervened into my conversation. Turned out he had the same stove I think I can help you he said. He came to my house problem solved. Until today when something else broke. I was told by the proprietor this just doesn't happen. See whatever I say ever I say that has gone wrong they try to flip it back on to me. Obviously this is 100% under warranty but he just does poor warranty work. Once again due diligence pays off which I did not do, shame on me. Before the sale of my new purchase. Their models in the store were missing some parts they explain to me if a customer has a problem we help them out 110% we will take parts off displays to get them up and running. Just tonight I asked them let me take that part for the day to get me going. The owner of the company I cannot do that I will not do that.
