Potratz Floral Shop — Local services in Erie

For years my DIL and I have driven more than 40 miles to shop at Potratz. My DIL loves their plant selection. So when my mother wanted to purchase a gift for her newest great grand daughters recently born, their mamas favorite greenhouse (Potratz) seemed the obvious choice, even though it is very much out of the way for us. So, last September (2024), I purchased 2-Oak Leaf Hydrangeas as gifts from my mother to her 2 great grand daughters. (at $50 a piece I might add. And they didn't look all that nice when we picked them up, but they assured me "they would perk up" after being planted and some adjust time. I called today to tell them one of the plants did not leaf out this Spring. I was very disappointed to hear them say "it was a bad winter, nothing we can do about that" I said, so you won't replace the dead one? They said "No" I guess I should have asked about warranty when I purchased them but I honestly thought purchasing these plants from a "reputable" nursery/greenhouse would assure we got good plants and that they would stand behind their products.. We are so disappointed. These were to be a pair of pink beauties to grow up with the great granddaughters. Pretty sure I at least won't be going out of my way anymore...

Thank you Potraz for 'once again' saving my beautiful 20+ year old plant Peace Lilly, I almost killed. No matter what goes wrong I know you will always be there to fix it. Over the years I have bought many plants for the office where I worked, and they were georgous when I gave them away upon my retirement. I have 2 large legacy Hoya, you saved one from bugs and germinated one from cuttings and grew for over a year and it was returned to me over with over 4 feet of growth. The Hoya's are are over 60 years old and given to me by my mother who passed a long time ago. When these plants bloom it feels like my mother, who grew up on a farm, is stopping by to say " hello, I love you all" . I hope to continue my long association with Potraz in the years to come. Please don't ever close. Everyone who works there is so nice and knowledgeable and always ready to help. Compared to everywhere else thier prices are reasonable, but more importantly thier plants are...

Potratz Floral Staff. You truly are AWESOME! Last week Mothers Day Weekend. I called Saturday the 11th of May. Yes you may think last minute but I had lost my debit card, Thank God my new one arrived Saturday. You see I live in Oregon so that puts us 3 hours behind you. I called and they had run out of fresh cut flowers. They wouldn't be able to deliver until Monday. I said ok. I was put on hold. When this wonderful lady came back on the phone, she said if I would like to get my Mom a dozen of Roses that they would be able to deliver them that day. I said yes!!! Well needless to say My Mom called me on Saturday late afternoon to tell me Thank You and that the Roses were Beautiful. I knew they would be. Thank You Thank You Oh So very much. I Cannot Tell You How Much this meant to me. You see My Mom is dying of Cancer and this will be her last Mothers Day. And Your Staff went above and beyond to help me. Thank You Again! Lauree...
