Went for a spontaneous weekend escape and randomly picked these cabins. We were lucky enough that they had a last-minute cancelation, which allowed us to snag the cabin.
Eatlier that morning, I called and left a message that was promptly returned. The owner was very nice and polite. Making the reservation was quick and easy. Check-in was at 3 p.m., and we made it there by 5 p.m. The husband met us in front of the office and directed us to our cabin, number 8. He was super nice. Gave us a walk-through of the cabin and a quick tutorial on how to work the hot tub. He also provided us with some suggestions of things to do in the area and a couple of good places to eat, if we weren't cooking and eating in the cabin.
The cabin was clean, and the decor was fairly up to date for a rustic cabin. There were no weird smells, and it had been remodeled and updated. The hot tub was clean, and the deck was semi private. The deck overlooked the river, which was really nice.
We didn't go anywhere. We just relaxed in the cabin. The internet was slow, and we had no cell service, which we didn't mind at all. We came to relax and that we did.
The only downside was that these cabins were right off the highway, and our cabin was the closest to the highway. There was a constant barrage of cars and motorcycles up and down the road all day and night. The cabin was fairly noise proof, but the highway does distract from the beautiful ambiance and peaceful serenity. Maybe stay further into the property to avoid being so close to the road. Although this entire property is right off the road.
Overall, we would stay here again, and it was a nice, peaceful weekend eacape. And the price was fairly reasonable, a smidge high for...

The wife and I wanted a little getaway. We wanted to get into the mountains of the National parks and see the views. We stayed in one of the cabins with a private hot tub. This was one of the major reasons we picked rustic river cabins. Our cabin overlooked the river, and while relaxing in the hot tub the sounds of the bubbling river and the beautiful star filled night were perfect. the bed has a hug memory foam mattress and is comfortable. These are real cabins built many years ago, so get ready for some creaking floors and maybe even a little tilt in the floor. The fireplace is nice, but read the instructions on how to properly start the fire. I am a guy, and of course did not!!!
Breakfast overlooking the river each morning was serine. Nights of beautiful stars was awesome. The traffic flying by is a little bothersome but not enough to ruin our getaway. The TV worked enough when I wanted it to, again if I had asked I could have gotten those other channels that were being difficult. The owners have put in very nice home touches in the cabins. they are there to chat or help you get the hot tub working, fire going or work the sat TV the right way. But The wife and I were not there to watch TV, we wanted to see ESTES Park and the mountains.
We attempted to fish in the river, but we had no luck. We enjoyed the fun of it. We found a few spots a little down the road to fish for next time. The property is 16 acres. We walked part of the trails to see some wonderful views. The property is pet friendly so get ready for some friendly sniffing dogs.
Thank you guys for the awesome experience. We look forward to seeing you next time we are up...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I traveled to RRC in December 2015, attracted by the seclusion of a private cabin. We loved the idea of a private hot tub in the mountains with starry skies at night. And that's exactly what we got. We found this gem on a cannabis friendly tourism site. Most chain hotels do not permit smoking on premises, and RRC was a perfect alternative. Although smoking in the beautifully clean cabin is not permitted, you can smoke on the hot tub patio or right out the front door. James and his wife were wonderful, hospitable hosts. We used the kitchen and fireplace during our 4-day stay, getting logs and food at the Safeway in Estes Park. There were plenty of dining options in town, too. And the drive up from Denver was one of the most picturesque I've ever seen. We'd love to go back in the summertime to hike the property, which looks gorgeous. We saw stars in the sky that you simply don't see in the light polluted city. At the same time, wireless access worked perfectly with my Chromecast hooked into the flat screen tv for Netflix, etc. There's a minimal cable package in the cabin. I could make calls on my Wi-Fi Google hangouts app. No cell service until I got to Estes Park. But I didn't mind. I was too busy enjoying the opposite of hustle and bustle. If you're coming to Colorado to relax and experience cannabis tourism industry, stay at RRC and hit up Headquarters on the drive in from Denver. And check out Boulder while in the area. We'll...
