My favorite hike of our trip to the Estes Park area, It was also the more difficult one that my wife and I took being that we're from Illinois. Took us about 4 and 1/2 hours there and back and that includes a break at the top to eat some snacks and take in the beautiful views and take pictures. We're both in good shape, but again from Illinois so the elevation is always a little more challenging. I will add once you're at the top, the actual pass between the two peaks, The peak to your right towards the small radio tower is the easier one to get on top of, the peak to your left is definitely more challenging and I would list it as difficult but well worth it and the official marker is on the more difficult peak šŸ‘

Twin Sisters Peak in Colorado is an excellent hike that is accessible from both Allenspark in Boulder County, as well as from Estes Park in Larimer County. And it is about 70 miles or so from Denver. It offers a challenging hike with good elevation gain and some challenging trail areas. It stands at 11,433 feet and has amazing 360 degree views at its summit. You get incredible views of Rocky Mountain National Park, Long’s Peak, Mount Meeker and Estes Park. If your training to climb one of Colorado’s 54 ā€œ14’ersā€ then is is certainly an excellent option. Climb on!

We really enjoyed the views from the top of the trail. The trail was pretty easy with switch backs and gradually climbing the mountain. When we got above the trees it was very rocky, so watch your step. Some of the rocks shift as you walk. It seemed like if you didn't walk quite right you could twist an ankle or hurt your knee. It seemed like a really popular trail, but on our way down we only saw two groups of people. At the top we could see rain in the distance, so that might have been why there were less people.

Hiked late March 2019. Trail was snow covered the entire way - mostly packed, but slushy some places and some accidental post holes along the way if you stepped even 6 inches off the "trail". Sunk up to my thigh a few times unexpectedly - hilarious! I personally wouldn't tackle this trail in the winter without microspikes (don't think I would have made it to the peak without them). A tough hike for an East-coaster like me from low elevation of moderate fitness level. I think my son could have done it at least an hour faster or more. It took us 3.5 hours up and almost 2 down. Started hike at 2pm - would recommend starting earlier. Almost got caught in the dark. Beautiful views at the top. Worth...
