Elgin Furniture — Local services in Euclid

I was at Elgin's furniture store today and I got some very misleading information about some items. I let it be known that I wasn't satisfied by what this particular individuals boss told her to do. I know for a fact that if I where any other person other than a Black man, I would've been given this particular item at the value of what the website said. I have to be honest with you. After I receive my item I'll never shop at Elgins ever again. I'm still upset by the information that I was given. It's beyond sad that there are to separate prices on items, one for them and one for us. It saddens me that the sales person viewed me if I was someone that didn't have common sense. This same practice goes on in hotels, department stores, and any place that goods are sold until this very day. These people wanted me to by 2 items that according to the website we're supposed to be sold separately just to try and make money off of me. I stated to the sales person that it doesn't indicate this on your website. As I stated before, once I receive my item. I'm never going to shop there or purchase an item again. I'm sure when they see this post they are going to delete it. Based on my experience today, if F+ was a grade; that's what they'd get from me. I didn't appreciate being lied to at all. Then the sales lady had the Gaul to say to me smile, it's okay. I did everything in my power not to go in on her. I can't speak for anyone else but this is my last time ever shopping with them for sure. As a result my experience wasn't a good one. If there is one thing that I hate is one someone attempt to gaslight me. As I stated before some of the practices that are used as it relates to Black people when it comes down to purchasing items is sad. If I we're the same color as her then what was advertised on the website would've stood as the actual pricing. I continously ask for her boss but she claimed that he was busy doing something else. Yet when some Whites came into the store he magically appeared with a warm greeting for them. People need to understand that when a potential customer is spending money then obviously they like or want your product or products. I'm 100% sure that the same product that I wanted to purchase had I been a White person, then they would've sold it to me as advertised. However, when you have faulty salesperson and or bosses with a shady mentality. Then that's not a good look for your store or cooperation. Honestly I really don't know how Elgin's in still in business. The more that I think about my experience the angered I get. The year is 2024 yet we still have a group of people that seem to think that we are unintelligent with their condescending ways. Because the last time I checked money was green. As a salesperson your job should be to work with the customer to ensure that they get what they want. Not trying to high jack the prices or use false promotions to make sales. I arrived an hour before closing with what i wanted in mind. I was immediately greeted warmly and helped as soon as I walked into the door. The bed set I was interested in was in stock, so that was a plus in itself. I had planned on simply maybe paying for my purchase in full but thought otherwise. One of the sales reps spoke with me about financing, which i had no knowledge of but they walked me through the procedure, explaining my options thoroughly. All in all, im very happy with my transaction and look forward to doing more business with them in the future.

Update: Delivery went by very smoothly. They arrive in the time frame that was set and immediately began the process of hauling and setting up my materials. It took them about 30 mins or less. They were very professional and I highly recommend their business.

Update 2024: I was looking into purchasing a couch and Wasn’t too sure with what I wanted to go with. I had an idea but wasn’t too sold. Anya was the associate that helped me. I Recently Went To Elgin's Furniture Store On Lakeland Blvd To Look And Shop For Living Room Furniture For My New Home. It's A Family Owned Business And Their Very Friendly And Personable!! Kathy The Queen Of Elgin's Was Absolutely Awesome She Showed Everything From Italian Leather Living Room Sets, Plush Soft Sectionals To Beautiful Designer Rugs. I Was Really Impressed With The HIGH Class And Quality Of The Furniture. I Left And Went To Make Some Errands And Think About The Selections That I Really Liked... One Thing I Also Liked Is After Kathy Showed Me Certain Selections She Let Me Ponder And Think/ View The Furniture On My Own And Said If I Needed Her To Let Her Know!! After I Left I Came Back In 2 Hrs And Made A Purchase Because Out Of All The Stores Kathy Served Me With Excellent Salesmanship!! Kathy's Son Matt Was Terrific As Well And He's The CLOSER That SEALS THE DEAL!! Their Real GOOD PEOPLE And Make Your Shopping A Very Pleasurable Classy Experience Topped With Sincere Good Vibes!! PS.
