Dropped car off for a full lookover and quote for brakelights on Tuesday @ 9AM prompt as directed. Come back around 2 PM and car still hadn’t been touched. Had to pay someone for a ride for nothing that day. Call Thursday morning to confirm I would actually be seen that day before paying for another unnecessary ride, I hear the mechanic in the background screaming “Jesus Christ” about my inquiry, he gets on the phone very rude as if my question was out of left field. They’re the ones who dropped the ball the first time, not me. Totally fair question. Brush it off given limited local mechanics (mistake), come back on Thursday drop car off, get a call from a very rude woman telling me it would cost extra to have them quote me for the brake lights because they would have to “make calls” eventually she dropped it and called back with a price for that and the inspection. When I go to pick it up I’m greeted by the rude old blonde lady from the phone call, I ask if there’s a list of issues from the inspection and she starts to say something snide but stops herself so I was going to let that one slide but then she comes back to my bill and very dramatically circles a list of things wrong and draws through the list so it is now ineligible with her pencil. She continues making rude comments so I quickly pay and she’s screaming still from behind the desk saying things like “the mechanic was right” (???) while I’m walking out the door. I did nothing to these people besides get my car looked over and quoted for my most pressing mechanical issue (my brake lights) and I got treated completely unprofessionally. One of the most trashy customer service experiences I’ve experienced since moving up to this “neck of the woods” definitely couldn’t pay me to come back here but hopefully these workers learn a little bit of grace with paying customers in the future given its such a small town and a lot of people have limited options to...
Read moreMy dad and I got a flat tire while up at Sugarloaf over the weekend. It was a Saturday and the closest open place to get a tire puncture repair was probably in Farmington. But Jimmy found us in the Mountain Grocer parking lot and called his relative who has a shop (T&L Enterprises) in Stratton to see if he could help us out even though technically the shop wasn’t open. The guys at T&L said to send us over. We drove over and they helped us out right away even though they had been working on Snowmobiles and getting rentals out. I think we were in and out in about 20 minutes and we were able to get a full day of skiing in. Thank you! And thank...
Read moreTom and Lori were incredibly responsive and helpful after our rental car ended up with a bubble on a tire sidewall. Budget offered lousy options (and NOTE that rental cars do NOT include a spare OR donut anymore) - we could have it towed to Bangor or replace the tire with the exact same tire (very hard to find a Bridgestone 225/55R-19 in northern Maine). So...we had Tire Rack FED EX [and kudos to them for being on time!] to T&L, Lori accepted the delivery late on a Tuesday, Tom put it on the rim/replaced on the car early Wednesday, enabling us to get back to the Portland Airport in plenty of time for our flight. $20. Amazing service. ...
