Sue, owner of Stitchknit is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She was able to alter 4 garments on a tight timeline. One dress was very complicated with the way it was originally sewn and what needed to be done, but due to her decades of experience, she was able to alter it to my liking beautifully. She took the time needed to initially fit it. For the more complicated pieces, she had me come back for one more fitting to ensure it was to my liking before making it permanent. It was. She was absolutely spot on. I even added on two of my husband's pants at the second fitting that needed hemming and she did not bat an eye at the extra work on my tight timeline. As a bonus, Sue is a great conversationalist- very personable. My order was due on Jan.6th; she had it done by Christmas. In the end, all 6 garments were perfect. Her pricing is very reasonable as well. Sue clearly has a passion for what she does and treats each piece with ultimate care and love. I highly recommend her and I will certainly be a repeat customer. If you need a garment altered, please give her a try, you will be disappointed and at the same time be supporting a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! It was an amazing experience! I went to stitchknit after having a bad experience from more than 5 places. I wanted a long dress to be altered for new year eve's party. I m so glad that I met Sue who was polite and generous unlike other alteration places. Sue asked me to step up on a platform and made me turn around to mark every inch to be altered. She charged reasonable price for the work and got the dress done within a day which other places denied. During this whole time she was very sweet and humble. I was so happy when I tried the fixed dress, she also altered the tail of the dress which was difficult for other places to do so! I expressed my happiness and had a little chat with Sue. I felt that she is very sophisticated, kind, delightful and a caring person. She also teaches and her student seemed very happy working with her. She is honest and true to her profession which reflects in her work and behavior with the customers. I can say that my review doesn't do justice, u gotta experience by yourself!
Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off by saying that I am a 4'9 adult. I have gotten a LOT of clothes altered to fit my smaller than average frame and most of my experiences have been less than ideal, several ending in clothing being unwearable after the alteration. So, I was wary visitng Sue. I have now visited her at least three times and reccomended her to friends. She is professional, highly talented, and her communication is outstanding. Her space is actually comfortable to visit AND it is orderly. She has done more than one zipper repair for me at a very reasonable price and altered a trickier multi-layered piece for me to perfection. After more closely looking at the piece that I brough in to have altered, instead of guessing at what might work, she had me try it on and pinned it to just how I wanted it, no assumptions. As a craftswoman herself she is passionate about making sure that crafts like sewing stay alive and also teaches classes! 10/10 have and...
