Beautiful scenery in the Sequoia National Forest from the trees to the mountains, rocks and rivers. When we started on our drive at the bottom of the mountain, it was sunny and beautiful outside, but we could see a lot of clouds at the top of the mountain. Once we got up to the top, it was snowing very hard, which made it hard to see and drive, and it was obviously very cold. The drive was long and windy, but well worth the spectacular views you will come across on the way. Certain viewpoints allow you to view the rivers below. We visited in March and were hoping to drive straight through the Forest into Yosemite, but the road was closed at the top and we were forced to turn around and exit the park fully and detour several hours to continue on towards Yosemite.

Great spot to stop at and enjoy the view before heading up to General Sherman.

Amphitheater Point is a must-visit spot in Sequoia National Park! It's incredibly accessible with a spacious parking lot and a well-designed tiered viewpoint. From there, you'll be treated to breathtaking 180-degree views. The view of Moro Rock against the lush green landscape is simply stunning. You can also witness the dramatic elevation change from foothills to granite alpine peaks, all against the backdrop of a brilliant blue sky. It's a photographer's dream come true! However, please be cautious when entering or exiting the area, as highway speeds can be high, and visibility is sometimes limited. Overall, an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Stunning views of Moro Rock and nearby mountains. Location is great as a rest break coming into the park; the curves can get you really dizzy so being grounded and still helps. I came once in the morning and later in the afternoon. These afternoon shots had better lighting with the sun on the mountains (vs sun behind the mountains and more shadows). So I recommend returning in the afternoon if you'd like a nice view on your way...
