2023 Edit: This is my second time using Gourmet Gift Baskets for my mother and she again LOVED her gift! It arrived on-time and she complimented the high quality of the photo card and the basket itself. She loved the treats and the wine included and was very happy. The baskets are such great quality that she holds on to them to use as decorations for the holidays. Such an easy service with high-quality gifts. Thank you!
Original: I ordered this for my mother's birthday the day before (talk about last-minute). I spent some time digging around for a gift basket she would like but this one was hands-down the best I came across. It was also the most expensive (of course) but I am VERY familiar with the wines in this case and Decoy is my favorite. Also, it has chocolates - LOTS of chocolates, and not some crackers and chips that some other baskets have and that nobody enjoys. I was on the phone with my mom on her birthday when a big package arrived and I was so excited for her to open it! It was another basket, with two wines, from my BROTHER, but from another company and didn't have chocolates - just dry, tasteless crackers. Mine arrived a couple hours later and my mother loved it so much she started to cry! I live in Colombia so she wasn't expecting anything as nice as that. She loved the black case that it came in (she likes to save and re-use nice boxes and cases), and she said the chocolates were amazing. Of course, she also loved the wine and not even 5 minutes had passed before she was opening up the Decoy. I know the basket my brother got my mother because I had been looking at it earlier online and almost bought it. But this one, even though double the price, is MUCH BETTER quality and was worth every additional penny. To see my mother on the video call start to cry when she opened everything up was priceless for me. HIGHLY recommended - a nice, New England company with reliable delivery (from order to delivery in ONE DAY) and incredible presentation. I couldn't be more pleased and will DEFINITELY be ordering from them again...
Read moreI am in a long distance relationship with my significant other, and for his birthday I decided to surprise him with one of these gift baskets. The order had plenty of notice, and was set to arrive as expected on the date. The shipping was $16.99 and did not arrive the day of his birthday.
I never received any notification about the late arrival for the basket and was just surprised about it when I had asked my boyfriend about his gift, and he had told me that nothing had arrived for him. Speaking that the basket itself is about $65, and the shipping cost was so high, I would expect for this to arrive in a timely manner. I then went to the website to look for their customer service number so I can see when the order will be arriving, and I see a very small shipping policy at the bottom of the website. The shipping policy states that times are guaranteed with refund for all months with a small disclaimer that this policy excludes the months of November and December. This was news to me! The only thing shown in the ordering process is the guarantee, not the exclusion clause, which should be explicitly stated if you are ordering for the month of November or December!
To make things worse, I ended up calling the customer service line, only to never reach a customer service member. I was prompted to leave my phone number to hold my spot in the cue and receive a call back when a customer service representative was available, but I have still not received any sort of call back.
Summary: Beware of ordering from here, it doesn't seem worth the price, especially the shipping cost. If I were you, I would just make your own cost-efficient and customizable gift basket, or buy local and just ship it yourself. At least you'll save a good penny, and you can ship it as early as you possibly can. Also, if you have an issue with this company, it will be...
Read moreGOURMETGIFTBASKET stated that the order is comprised of perishable items and would have to be delivered within 2 days.
Despite the fact that the order was packed in New Jersey and was supposed to be delivered to a location that's also in New Jersey (about 20-30 min away), the package detailed tracking shows that UPS (the carrier used by the vendor) picked up the package on 9/9 and transported it to one of their facilities in New Jersey, then yet again to another location in New Jersey, then to Rhode Island then to Massachusetts then again to another facility in Massachusetts and then to New Hampshire and then back to NJ on 9/13. That's 4 days later (by which time the content must have perished) and returned the package to the sender (i.e., GOURMETGIFTBASKET) with the excuse that the address is incorrect. I called the facility and they assured me that no delivery was attempted.
GOURMETGIFTBASKET completely ignored the fact that content perished and went along with the false excuse of the address could not be found; however, the location where the package was to be delivered is a medical facility with a well-established (and verified) address that has existed for a long time (and clearly available on Google Maps as well other apps). Even the GOURMETGIFTBASKET representative I talk to was able to locate it. Also, the facility is staffed 24x7x365 with presence in the lobby and on every floor. Saying that it could not be located is preposterous and most likely a lie to cover the fact that the contents perished.
Despite all of that, the representative said a refund would not be issued. One would think that any reasonable business that cares about its customers and its reputation would immediately offer a refund; not this business, though. What a predator...
