Will never go back again!! My family and I had the worst experience here yesterday 6/19 around 3pm. There was 3 female employees I was only able to get the name of 1 since the other 2 didn’t have a name tag on. Seriously the nastiest attitudes!!! If only the owner was there to see how these girls run the show while serving ice cream. The girls are very pushy and rude! A couple Ordering before us asked for 2 cups of water and that was given to them without hesitation but my uncle asked them “may I get a cup of water” and Alma said “oh yeah there’s water bottles there in the fridge for sale” like really what if your problem the attitude and rudeness started with us since we started ordering. One of the employees the shortest one of the 3 she kept making faces and rolling eyes while my cousin and my dad were ordering. After the water conversion my aunt said excuse me to another employee making waffle cones which I’m sure she heard my aunt saying excuse me multiple times but the employee much have selective hearing because she heard her coworkers talking to her and they were further away. A family walked in while we were sitting inside eating ice cream that at that point was no longer enjoyable. Again the short girl was being super pushy the customer was still looking and the menu and was basically telling her hurry you want a scoop a pint or a gallon…. Again with her nasty attitude. Having employees like this isn’t taking this business anywhere! They need to close the shop for a day or two and get classes on customer service. If you don’t like your job, go look for something less complicated for you. There’s a frame in there that I believe says…. Ice cream makes life sweeter…. These girls should eat some,...
Read moreI was surprised to find no candles in this candle shop.
Fortunately I didn't need a candle, as we are renting a property that has mains electricity and nearly all of the lights are functional (although the placement of the light switches is non-obvious).
With the large number of campsites in the area I am sure that there are many visitors who would need candles to illuminate their tents. Although care should be taken with the current dry weather as a tipped over candle could start a forest fire. To be clear - I am in no way endorsing the use of candles in tents, this seems reckless.
In place of Candles the shop is actually dominated by sweets and chocolates. To be honest this seems like a much better product for the shop to be selling. Passing tourists a more likely to want to buy something sweet than a candle (apart from campers). I can only imagine that commercial pressure over the years has slowly moved the candles further and further into the shadows, bringing the chocolates to the fore.
The sweets and chocolates are delicious and varied. The shop also sells ice cream, in a wide variety of flavors. I believed I had finally tracked down the candles when I noticed the "Birthday Cake" ice cream. Surely no birthday cake is complete without candles? I ordered a single scoop in a cup, casually telling the assistant that I was 51 years old.
Unfortunately the ice cream arrived without any candles. With a heavy heart I blew out the bright imaginary flame and dug in. The ice cream...
Read moreTruly an odd and immature experience with the worker today. I asked for one cone ice cream and one cup ice cream. I started telling her what flavors I want for the cone, and when she put them in the cup, I asked her politely if she could actually put them in the waffle cone. However, for some reason she started going off about how what she is holding is a cup and not a cone. I was like I could see that, sorry for the confusion! could you please put those flavors in the cone. But I think she was completely puzzled on why I would ask that. She just kept on saying something like "but this is the cup we use" and "why would you say that you want the cone when I put the ice cream in the cup." Like it was bizarre. I told her she could just put the icecream she already scooped in the cone. But she rolled her eyes and said "yeah thaaaaat makes sense" in a sarcastic tone and threw away our ice cream and walked away from the counter. I'm completely fine with miscommunications and mistakes as we are all human nonetheless but she was so immature. Do their workers not know that they work at an ice cream store and that sometimes they have to scoop...
