Dollar General — Local services in Eyota

I stopped in at 5 minutes to close. I recently moved a few miles away and needed 3 things. Since I have worked in retail for years, I completely understand that no one wants to stay late. As I hurried in the door I said to the two guys at the front that I just needed a couple things and told them I am quick and would be right out. Clearly I was hustling to find what I needed. The younger guy didn't respond and the older man who was already standing there with his arms crossed just barked "ya got 5 minutes". Ok, no problem right? A couple minutes later I hear him yell "3 minutes". At this point I found the glass cleaner and Laundry soap I needed. I couldn't find the hardware section so I asked them if they had picture wire. No response, just dirty looks. So I asked where the hardware aisle was. The younger guy just waved towards an area of the store. The old guy responds with "Ya got 1 minute!" So I'm having am anxiety attack by now, try to find the aisle but give up and head up front, then I heard alot louder and every bit as mean. "It's 9:00!"

All I can say is WOW. I love Dollar General and I WAS happy that I would be living just 10 minutes from one, but if that's the GM, no thanks I'll drive to the Byron one if I want to to go. It is absolutely not OK, ever to treat a customer like that. EVER. I don't care how rough I looked cuz I have been cleaning all day or how bad the old jerk wants to get home...

If I could give this place no stars I would. I went in and staff weren't wear masks and when they why she said she took it off because no customers. She at this point made no movement to go get a mask or put one on. The other staff was also not wearing hers properly with both nose and mouth covered.. When I asked her to wear a mask the staff went and talked to coworker about customer demanding them to wear a mask. I spoke loudly enough for them to hear me stating I could hear them. I stated that I'm sure their corporate office would love to hear about this and was responded with a "for what". As I was leaving i heard them laughing at me and saying...

This store was listed as a WESTERN UNION ON GOOGLE!!!! out a ways but just off the highway. As i coast in on fumes because of an emergency expecting to pick up funds because of auto break down issues in sub freezing temps, the manager tells me they are gonna be a WESTERN UNION SOMEDAY BUT NOT TODAY!!!!!!!
