I won a discount suit for my husband from Sam Michael's at a Bridal Expo. The first time we went into the store we had a positive experience, we worked with Andrea who was very helpful in getting us exactly what we wanted. The trouble we originally had was the suit that we wanted to go with couldn't be rented, they had to be bought. So we went ahead and paid for the full suit, pocket square, tie, shoes, belt, vest, shirt, everything. The total cost was over $600. Then we sent the Groomsmen to go get fitted and order their suits. It was downhill from there because we had multiple groomsmen complain to us that the staff was rude either on the phone or in person. Everytime someone went into the store they were told they couldn't find our sheet, they didn't have the right wedding date written down, or they were telling people vests weren't necessary after I told them they were. They lost the measurements for our groomsman who lives out of town and were requesting that he come back again to get fitted when that wasn't an option. Once the suits arrived none of them fit the groomsmen and all had to go in for additional alterations. When my husband went in to pick up his suit they couldn't find his record of payment so he had to drive home to go search for it. It was just one thing after another and for some place that we spent so much money at and had 8 other people spend a lot of money at you would think it would be a LOT more professional than it was. Huge thank you to Mike who was able to make my dream wedding tuxedo a reality. I came to his shop with just a few months to spare looking for an all white tuxedo. I had been looking all over for something that wasn’t the standard pure white prom tux. Mike was able to custom make this outfit for me, faster than the several other shops I had spoke with. Price and service are both exceptional. He had a slightly off white single breasted suit (which matched my wife’s dress perfectly) and he turned it into a double breasted white tuxedo, adding the satin white shawl lapel exactly to my pictured request. Alterations fit perfect. He custom made my bow tie, and even tailors the shirt. He also carried white suspenders with gold trim which I really couldn’t find anywhere either. Lastly, he embroidered my sleeve with my initials which he does in house as well. They came highly recommended and it was an awful experience. While dealing with them three times from the measurements, to fitting, to final fitting we had problems. They lost our measurements and with people living out of state it was stressful; however, they were finally found. When we came back they lost our order again. When i went to pick up the suits mine was tailored. The suitcoat had a nick in the top, stitching coming undone, and thread hanging from the pocket. They assured this would be taken care of when i picked it up and but it wasnt. I guess thats my fault for trusting them. Then came the groomsmen problems. One guy was given a size 13 and size 11 shoe. The other guy had a mask in the suitcoat pocket which questions their cleanliness. NONE OF US were given the cufflinks or buttons we were promised except for one of five so we decided none of us could wear them. I have pictures of all the issues and will take it to them tomorrow when i drop off the rentals. Sadly i wanted to purchase my suit since it was my wedding and now im left with junk...
