THE BEST AMTRAK THERE EVER WAS AND THE BEST STAFF THERE EVER WAS (in combination with downtown Baltimore Amtrak!!) AND ALSO RIDICULOUS STORY: I dropped off my husband this past Friday. My three kids (4yo, 2yo, 4 month old) stood waving for about 10 minutes as he found his seat and waved back. The train started to roll away...my car keys were in his pocket. All I had on me was 3 kids and my phone - and the car was locked. I walked in to find a super friendly young man behind the desk. I told him the situation and he immediately got on the phone with his coworker at the Baltimore Station. He told me to tell my husband to meet his coworker - black woman, red shirt, buzz cut - on the platform as he had 2 minutes to make the transfer of the key or he'd get left behind. He got the key to this mystery wonderful woman who then got the key to an attendant on the southbound Palmetto train. It arrived at 853, a mere 25 minutes after we had been deserted, the key was handed to my savior attendant, who then handed the key to me. INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Thank you to everyone for saving us, you are truly so...
Read moreThe clerk Mike was absolutely rude!!!! We saw on his face he was angry. The three of us waited in a line for a few minutes and when it was our turn, my husband approached the counter but Mike was very rude and rejected him and asked the lady behind us to come first?!? We tried to explain to him we were in front of her,why is he calling her, and he didn't want to talk to us! We let the lady finish, and when it was our turn, our cousin went first, and he told my husband he needs to go to a counter next to him, despite the fact people were there. My husband said he wanted to buy a ticket from him, not wait again. Mike started to be very rude and he told us one ticket to Washington DC Union Station was about $60, which is impossible, since we paid $16 yesterday. We told him that, but he was very short and rude. We just decided to leave and take Uber. This was very stressful and disappointing! I hope his manager will read this and do something to prevent this happen again. It happened on September 11, 2017...
Read moreToo small for the number of people it handles yearly, but it works fairly well nonetheless. Shuttle service to the airport operates throughout the day. If you are close to the time for your flight and no shuttle is pulling up or waiting, it would be advisable to grab a taxi at the cabstand rather than waiting for the next bus. You must take a cab if you need a rental car (unless you are cheap and willing to take one shuttle bus to the airport and another to the rental car facility). Usually clean restrooms and a small store for convenience items. Don't expect anything special or reasonable prices. Tickets can be obtained from QuikTrak kiosks or from ticket agent at the window. For northbound trains exit the station, turn right, and walk straight ahead to the northbound platform (track 1). For southbound trains, use the overhead walkway (elevators and stairs at both ends) to get to the southbound...
