My first stay here, a male guest was walking around my vehicle, i walked to my car, he was asking about my vehicle if it drives good etc.. he then walks away, as i was pulling out to leave, an african american woman was rushing to my vehicle & stopped me saying my car needed to be towed & said it was abandoned vehicle &she was putting a sign/sticker on it & didnt want me driving away. That was very abnormal obviously, i didnt know who she was and then asked a person working there, and was told that the woman was the manager named kendra, i said to the woman that i was a customer/guest there and i was checking out that day and it is my vehicle paid by me & owned by me and was not an abandoned vehicle. it was a mercedes 2006 slk sports car convertible and obvious it was not abandoned. I said i needed to go and that im driving my car, the woman was very angry saying police told her to tow it, i said that cant be true because it is your private property hotel and you are the person having the say ,and again stating i was a customer staying here and now i would like to leave, and i also explained to her that my Virginia tag expired on car because it needed a part & there was a supply chain problem in nation getting part from europe,so i had to wait on the part to pass va. inspection to renew tags,i asked her to please have empathy for the situation , but she still wanted to have my car towed away , i felt like an idiot standing there thinking why am i letting this woman that ran up to stop me from leaving in my own car when i was backing out of parking space, who rushes to stop someone from leaving in their own car to say they need to tow my car- not normal, so i got back in my car & simply drove away from there, it was a mind boggling experience. Second time i stayed there, i was afraid to bring my car so i didnt, the next problem came when House keeping opened my door unexpectedly and i wasnt fully dressed and they should not do that. She stated if i wanted to extend i needed to pay, i said i already extended and already paid, and the woman was rude and said to me "no" that i "didnt pay "and that i "need to pay "and walked away from me disregarding anything i said and would not listen and basically calling me a liar, she had an attitude, unprofessional disrespect & insulting, so i went to front desk to ask them to tell the woman that i had already paid and to please stop treating me like that, and informed the front desk that the behavior was not the first time & i want better professional treatment. Unfortunately it was that same african american manager and- The first words out of her mouth was that i was "always rude"....?? again-an outright lie. I said i was the exact opposite of rude, that i was respectful & a good customer, so i asked her to please state anything i said or did bad /wrong towards anybody here, she said it wasnt what i said it was "how i said it" . she didnt want me speaking, she was trying to silence me by speaking over me and by saying she will call the police if i didnt leave the office. And when i said it is very wrong the way i was being treated and no resolve to the problem obviously when she is making me out to be the problem rather than even acknowledging the truth, she did finally acknowledge that i had already paid, but instead of acknowledging the way i was treated as their customer she had to lie and say i was the rude person treating them wrong, that was not acceptable to me, so she turned to the housekeeper woman and said since i had "already paid" earlier for that day i could stay that day but have to leave the next morning and that im not allowed to stay there ever again. And that happened by their wrong doing to me, i didnt say one incorrect thing to them , i didnt cuss or act up, im not like that, all i simply did was ask for the bad behavior to stop, for professional respect and the truth- were all my exact words to them of what i wanted. That woman got away with doing that to me. That is how bad wins in society. It was disgusting to be...
Read moreAfter vacationing for a few days in Southern Maryland, I wasn't looking forward to waking up at 5AM to make the 2 hour drive back to the airport. I decided to, drive back the night before and spend the night at a hotel close to the airport. This Red Roof PLUS+ had a good rate and was only 8 minutes from the rental car return facility, so I booked a room.||Check in was simple enough. They put a hold on your credit card for "incidentals" which is typically used for mini bar and room service, neither of which this hotel had. So weird. ||The rooms all have doors that open to the outside, so a traditional "motel" format. Normally this isn't a big deal, but there were lots of [what looked like] "regulars" hanging out in the parking lot and outside their rooms, so I had an "audience" when I was moving my bags into my room. (Which I had to do because there was no way I was going to leave anything in the car overnight). ||The door to the room had a deadbolt, but it did not make a click or any other noise when used, so I wasn't able to determine of it was working. Not a great feeling.||Standing near the door, the room looked clean and well maintained. The bed spread, pillows, and sheets all were clean and free of stains. The mattress were comfortable as well. ||The TV was decent and had good picture quality.||Moving past the TV to the sink and bathroom, the illusion of being well maintained fell apart. The frame for the mirror looked like it should have been replaced 10 years ago. The wood looked like it had been through a flood. It had swollen and split and was patched with massive amounts of caulk and paint. The bathtub had rusty screws on it. Basically the back half of the room was just dingy. ||The air conditioner was confusing to use. There was a thermostat dial on the wall, but it took me a while to realize it wasn't connected to anything. To turn on the A/C, you need to use the controls on the unit itself. The buttons weren't super easy to understand, but I figured it out. The A/C is noisy, so make sure you cool the room down early so you can turn off the A/C before you go to bed.||The room was fairly quiet, but I was woken up a few times to the beeping of large trucks backing up. I did not hear any jet engine noise despite being so close to the airport.||One last note: As of the time of this review, there is a weed dispensary located directly next door to the hotel. Depending on who you are, this may be a good or a bad thing.||Overall, if you are price sensitive, this may be a good choice. If you value piece of mind and are willing to spend a little more, you may want to...
Read moreThe price for the room was reasonable but I didn't like the fact that it didn't have no fridge or microwave in either two queen beds room or standard king bed room that I stayed in which was very inconvenient and annoying having to get ice constantly to keep my food and drink cold in the sink. If I need to cook something in the microwave I have to go all the way down to office to use the microwave in vending and ice machine area on the 1st floor and my room was on the 3rd which I was very unhappy about. They said in order to have a fridge or microwave I would have to select the premium/luxury king bed room which is more money then standard kind which is ridiculous because I've stayed at other red roof inn and had standard king room and they had microwave and fridges in the rooms so I don't know why these rooms can't but premium kings (the only difference from the premium versus standard king room beside the fridge and microwave is that it had desk in it. SMH. There plenty of room in the standard king rooms for microwave and fridge I don't know why they just don't have them in there. You would think with this being a Red Roof Inn Plus they would but I guess they trying to get you for money any way they can. I swear when I stayed here like couple years ago my standard king room had the fridge and microwave but not no more. Beside the microwave and fridge issue there one more thing that I notice and wasn't too pleased seeing was that there was no where that was wheelchair accessible for people. Yes they had and elevator to get up to each level but there was no where around this building for people in wheelchair to get to the sidewalk to go to there room without going up some stairs or a curb. They need to do something about that and fix that issue because I know I'm not the only one that has notice that and the one in wheelchair don't want to have to hop curbs or stairs to get to their room from the parking lot or they just can't do that. Need to make it more accessible and easier for people because it was difficult and a pain for me getting my scooter up the sidewalk to get to my room because of the curbs or stairs to get to the sidewalk Yeah I see some handicap parking not many for people but please guys think about getting that fix right away you don't know how much that will help people and please them showing you are looking out for what best for your customers. Some people need flat ground cuz it difficult to walk and climb up stairs or curbs. You probably have lost customer or got complaints because of this issue more then just me saying it I...
