Coachlight RV Sales & Service — Local services in Fidelity

The purpose of this review is to shout out Coachlight RV Sales & Service in Carthage, MO, where we purchased our 41' diesel pusher Newmar Mountain Aire in April 1997 and on board which we have lived on the road full time ever since. She is a highly customized beauty (to rival the '57 Chevy we never had, LOL) and we have always done our best to keep her various systems performing to specs. Coachlight has been a big part of that effort as evidenced by our most recent visit.

One of our Dometic roof air conditioners failed after many years and rather than replace just one we opted to replace both. In April 2023 we visited Coachlight where it was determined via communication with Dometic that the units would need to be something of a special order plus require a wiring/control upgrade and interface with a new controller due to the age of our rig and would also need modification to accommodate the anchor points and roof openings as well as several other changes. We placed the order and returned in October 2023 for the project.

Both new air conditioners and peripheral parts had arrived during the summer thanks to diligent work by Tim Pahlow, Parts Manager. RV Technician Aaron Evans immediately set out to complete the change with modifications which took a couple of days and was totally successful. We were soon back on the road with both new units plus new connectors on communication cables and retrofitted old communication boards, all working flawlessly. We were/are very happy campers indeed.

The personalized and professional efforts of Tim and Aaron plus many other Coachlight employees over the years has us returning without hesitation when needed. In our visits now spanning nearly 28 years we have never had an untoward experience.

We must also mention the very reasonably priced full hookup Coachlight Campground immediately adjacent to the showroom, store and shop which was obviously laid out by the dealership owners who themselves drive big rigs, an easy in/easy out trait we often find sorely missing during...

RUN from these clowns!

Bought new Grand Design Imagine and stayed onsite to checkout camper. Major problem was water leak in wall from shower. It was cold and rainy so didn't discover other problems until later.

Our first camping trip we discovered the "fixed water" leak wasn't fixed so we saw water on 2nd day so shut off water. Doug said he would pick up trailer snd pull wall to look for damage (not on write-up just simply replaced washer).

External leak behind awning was fixed TWICE! Still leaks.

Slideout windows wouldn't open very easy. The write-up said couldn't recreate. But when Coachlight returned camper to us, their driver couldn't open. Sorry very easy to recreate so what did maintenance person do to test simply opening windows?

Screen door would not stay closed by itself so that was partially fixed(see attached pic of air gap in upper right). The hard door is visible in pic. Yes, screen door latches now but gap is big enough for mosquitoes. Driver tried to bend the hinges a little but gap still there.

Battery monitor was showing 14.9% (bounced around never high then. I thought was 149% since on shore power and has solar charger. Write-up simply stated 14.9 not 149%. Point being if charge was that low wouldn't it make sense to troubleshoot? I have pedestal at home so on...

They are the textbook definition of outstanding customer service. Bought a new Jayco fifth wheel and it was the smoothest vehicle purchase I've had in 44 years. Negotiations with the owner were fast and extremely fair. He was able to find us a better loan rate than I could find by myself. Answered every question I had in detail. My wife noticed a piece of trim that was messed up on our initial walk through and they had it fixed before we came down for the pre-delivery inspection without us even mentioning it. They gave us access to a heated area with electrical and water hookups so that we could test all of the systems. Found 3 or 4 very minor issues and they had them all fixed, the trailer winterized, and us hitched up and on the road an hour or two later. Gave us all kinds of free extras for the RV and 10% off on everything in the store. Sales staff A+. Shop guys A++.
