A pretty nice little candy shop. I don't believe they actually make their own chocolate. It does seem like it's more of a "we make the candies but not the ingredients" type place. Kinda the difference between a coffee shop that roasts it's own beans vs one that just makes cups of coffee.
In that regard it might be a little steep for what you actually get, but overall it's a nice enough store.

I'll preface by pointing out, we certainly enjoyed the chocolate and will be back.
That said, there are dozens of bean-to-bar chocolate makers in the US including a few within driving distance of Pittsburgh (if you don't mind going to Maryland or Ohio).
I don't think pointing out the difference between a chocolate maker and a chocolatier would be out of place in such a review. Sorry if you took umbrage to that fact.
As far as the relative price is concerned, for example hot chocolate charcuterie is repackaged chocolate melts, marshmallows and crushed cookies/candy canes. I'd say the value is comparatively low. Some people might disagree but it's really just resold ingredients on a tray.

Read moreCan you drive by a Pink House of Chocolates and not stop? We couldn't and so glad we didn't. The house smells incredible but then there is also ice cream available. We had a fantastic stop at the Pink House!
Hope I don't regret this update...but I bought and ate their Dubai Chocolate and it is fantastic!!! They sell out often, and it's not "cheap" but most reasonable price I've seen and it's my new favorite. I put pics up, Google "Dubai Chocolate" and you can get the official name of ingredients but it's essentially pistachio cream and crunchy bits. 10 out of 10!
Okay...so just stopped by again on June 6th and enjoyed the fabulously decadent Dubai Chocolate Milk Shake!!! My new favorite dessert. I ordered with two scoops of pistachio ice cream, so that's what I can recommend. You get to choose milk or dark chocolate, I'm a milk chocolate fan. It's more expensive than a typical milkshake, but once you taste it is sooo worth it! Coming here for that shake on my birthday!
What do you do when heading to Trax Farms and Turkeyfoot Rd is closed so you're rerouted to Venetia Rd. Use that detour to pick up a Dubai Chocolate Milkshake! Thank you construction workers on Turkeyfoot, the best thing I did today was get another Dubai...

Was recently visiting and staying with my brother who lives up the road and decided I needed to stop in to grab some pretzels and treats before I left for NC and wow wish I would have come by sooner. The store Is so pretty and super cute and every corner of every room is filled with all kinds of chocolates. Can't wait to come back and get more chocolate!!...
