Yesterday, My boss and I were looking for a place to play golf before our course opens in late April, so we decide to drive down from Laramie for the day. We paid $67 a piece to play which seemed to be on par with some other course in the same general vicinity. If I would have booked a little bit earlier, the price would have been reduced a little bit but that falls on me and me alone.
We had the first tee time out and we're going to try and get there early to warm up a little bit. We walked in the clubhouse at about 7:15 and the clubhouse wasn't staffed by the pro shop staff yet. Some of the management staff checked in with us and offered us coffee as we were waiting and wondered if if need anything else in particular. Without checking us in, another staff member printed us out a receipt for two small buckets of range balls. Once we got to the range, another staff member grabbed our two buckets for us so we could go warm up. When were sufficiently warmed up, we checked in, grabbed our cart and headed to the first tee. The starter rolled up about 20 minutes before we went off and we had a good chat with him about the course and golf in general. All in all, the customer service we received, before we even played, was top notch. Far better than even my local course. We felt like the staff at Saddleback really care about the customer and your experience there.
We played 18 and overall the course was in great shape. Early in the morning, the greens were not terribly receptive but they did roll and break true. As the day progressed and the weather got better, the course definitely started to play much better. The tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers were all very well maintained. We noticed the burned native areas around the course and actually saw them in the process of doing some more areas along the perimeter of the course. Even with the little bit of smoke, it didn't detract from the enjoyment we had.
We will definitely be back. We didn't play great because it's the early season for us, but we would really like to come back when we are playing better and to see the course in pristine condition. It's a fun but challenging layout that is very fair for golfers of all abilities. From the maintenance guys to the pro shop staff, thanks a bunch for a great time. We will definitely will be driving down from...
Read moreThis place was a surprise. My husband booked us for a Valentine's Special here. Carriage ride, dinner, dessert and champagne. I'm glad we came. The atmosphere is laid back, the bartender was on point with her drinks. I recommend the Jalapeno Margarita or the Hot Chocolate Martini. We started at the bar as we were early for our reservation. Then moved to a table in front of the fireplace ( which I requested upon seeing this option and they made it happen). Our server for our table was Marcus. He is a damn good server. And talking to him throughout service, he just got better. A young man, major self drive, major sales man, strong work ethic but still laid back and relaxed. If you want excellent service, ask for Marcus. We had pre-ordered our dinner when making reservations. My husband chose the Steak and I chose Salmon. Marcus asked me if I wanted to change my mind. I was on the fence as I usually don't eat fish. He did say if I wanted to expand my taste for fish, this was the place to do so. He said he has never been disappointed in the salmon there. Let me tell you.. I'm so glad I stuck to the salmon. It was cooked to perfection, the sauce was amazing. Even my husband ordered an extra filet for himself. The staff was very accommodating and happy to help. If you are ever looking for a place to eat and enjoy, this place is where you need to go. Even of you're not a golf player. We will be regulars here...
Read moreOn my 4th of July trip down from the eastern slope, I booked a tee time here for 2:24 on the website and after giving my card info and confirming the tee time I called in. Rang for a bit then went to a voicemail at 11:55 on a Monday. Left a detailed description of a question I had with my tee time(2:24)first and last name and a callback number. Ate some lunch and drove 55 minutes from north fort collins down to this golf course. The reason this is not a one star review is because it looked like a beautiful course, food smelled delicious, but the staff dropped the ball on my phone call or call back and website screwup. And proceeded to tell me to essentially I’m sol. Seems like the website takes card info and lets you know you are all set, but no email confirmation was sent. But the fact that I drove about an hour to show up 20 minutes early and was told that they never received anything from me. That’s the issue. I believe this course might just need staff on hands like most of the Country Clubs with paid memberships. Course looks 8/10, food smells 10/10, and the staff is the only thing that pushed me to write a review. “Top 10 friendliest golf course in Colorado” but treated me like I was there to waste their time.( as if I didn’t...
