Lake Meadows Assisted Living — Local services in Fishers

My mother was horribly neglected in this memory care facility. They do not care about the memory care residents. They are locked away and left to suffer. It’s HORRIBLE!!!!!! The Executive Director tried to keep me from talking to other residents that I knew there because she didn’t want me telling what actually goes on in the memory care. She and two other staff members were following me around trying to intimidate me when that didn’t work she called the police. JUST TO KEEP ME FROM TELLING THE RESIDENTS WHAT GOES IN THEIR MEMORY CARE!!!! Of course, the police did nothing, I wasn’t doing anything wrong. They had my mother locked out of her own apartment daily for weeks so “they could keep an eye on her” and I was ok with that until 7 weeks of this and I talked to the only person working in the memory care and was informed there is no public restroom in the memory care! Lake Meadows is home for my mother. She has lived there for about a year and a half. Her apartment is spacious, clean and the bathroom easily accommodates a wheelchair. She has plenty of storage space for her clothes and personal items. The activity director has developed a program which accommodates different interests and ability levels. She has even set up a group of volunteers from a local church to visit with residents who do not normally participate in activities so that they can have interactions with people in the privacy of their own apartment. The management team has been receptive to any concerns that I may have. When my mother needed extra help due to a fall, the nursing staff was more than willing to check on her and assist her as she recovered. I can tell she likes it there and that just gives me immense comfort knowing she feels good about her environment and is happy all the while!
