If you're looking to plan a wedding with Halifax Plantation Golf Club this is the review for you! My husband and I planned a destination wedding from Wisconsin and Stephanie with the golf club made it so simple. She had amazing reply time throughout the entire year and always had a solution or answer to my problems/questions. She gave me a list of referrals for all kinds of vendors which I used almost all of her referrals for our wedding; the DJ, photographer, videographer, and rehearsal dinner spot all came from Stephanie's referrals.
The team at the golf club was even more amazing! We had Barbara and her team the day of our wedding and I swear I couldn't have done it without them. Stephanie went through all of my wedding decor and my vision two days before the wedding and the entire team set up and took down every single thing. My wedding party and I hardly had to lift a finger. And when I tell you everything was PERFECT...I mean it.
We had to make a last minute adjustment due to weather and the ceremony was held inside - no biggie, the team took care of everything and it was still beautiful.
The bridal party had a beautiful suite to get ready in and we were able to order off the menu for lunch. It was perfect. The space was large with a bathroom so we could all easily have hair and make up done, and change without any issues. We had a beauty squad of 4 plus a bridal party of 8. We fit without any issues. The guys also had a private area so we didn't run into each other at all.
Our food was out of this world. I have a dairy allergy and that was easily accommodated. Everyone loved the food and it came out in a timely manner. I was told the next day that the food was a little delayed and truthfully if that was considered a delay, they were spot on in my book! It didn't feel like our guests or the bridal party waited at all!
We had an open bar with the option of shots. The bartender was great and the line always moved quickly.
We had a wedding with roughly 55 people. The reception space was beautiful, the wood chairs really brought something extra to the space, we had our cocktail hour on the patio which was screened in and perfect for the Florida weather, and the venue had many places for photos. Everything was very cost effective too.
I feel like this review isn't giving justice to how amazing the venue, staff, food, and entire experience was. We are forever grateful to the Halifax Planation Golf Club for making our special day so...
Read moreI am extremely torn in my review/rating of my round at Halifax Plantation. The golf course was very pleasant, laterally forgiving, fairways were in solid shape overall, and the greens while spotty/weedy in certain areas were very playable given the current circumstances (COVID19). The course was a great experience providing holes of various shapes/angles and some challenging bunker placements around certain greens. While the course itself was enjoyable, the management and operations of the course were a nightmare. I have never experienced such poor communication and lack of concern for guests. We booked a 4-some online through Golf Now for a Saturday morning tee time...when we booked 48 hours before our round, the mid-morning tee times were wide open. Arrived to the course 40minutes before tee time, paid in the pro-shop and immediately sensed the gentleman behind the counter was not warm/welcoming, seemed he would rather be anywhere else. No problem, we all have our days. Chipped, putted, and waited for our tee time....we headed to the 1st tee at our tee time and found another foursome at the tee, claiming they have our same tee time and several tee times after ours for their SAT-AM grouping. Naturally there is no starter and the gentleman in the proshop did not mention any change to my tee time or needing to go off #10...so I head to the Proshop, ask the gentleman and he says "yeah, we had to rearrange the tee sheet a bit, you will just have to fit in behind that group" ..."that group" was multiple groups playing all in a row for their weekly outing. I understand it is a semi-private club and would have no issue had our tee time been cancelled or notified ahead of time due to this member-group having their weekly outing. But we received no communication nor any concern from leadership, even once this issue was raised. The inmates were running the asylum as they paraded their own groups off the first tee. Very unfortunate as I would like to enjoy more rounds on the course but the management/operations team is either entirely incompetent or spineless with no regard for...
Read moreWe played this track on April 9. We have heard stories and seen some reviews that the course was near unplayable, no grass on fairways and terrible greens, further, the price was unrealistic. What a pleasant surprise to find these reviews unfounded. Yes, there is thin grass on the fairways, and yes, there were two greens, that had a couple of bare spots. (lack of rain and or fungus) None of these issues warrant negative reviews. If you have played any other area public course OTHER than Palm Harbor, Grand Reserve and Cypress Knoll, (which are in good condition) they are all far worse condition. Yes I agree, price is higher than I like, being a resident and retired, since I play 3 times a week, but part of that is because of snow birds and the other, who knows why. My suggestion is try the course, then pass judgment. We have played courses in St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Daytona, Port Orange, and still find the course conditions and pricing...
