Vowell's Market Place — Local services in Forest

My wife and I were traveling and got off the highway for fuel and some lunch in Forest Ms. We stopped by Vowell’s Market Place on Thursday 1/2/25 as we saw the deli sign on the front of the building. When we got to the deli we saw many prepared foods but nothing easy to eat in the car as we travelled. A man whose name I didn’t catch asked if we needed anything. I told him a couple sandwiches would be great and a place to wash our hands. He directed us the bathrooms and also to a young woman who would make us a sandwich. We were greeted with the highest level of customer service we could have imagined and the team at Vowell’s went out of their way to serve us. I only went to the lunch deli but it was fantastic. I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted so I bought 2 lunches and ate the other one the next day because I ate my leftover lunch for dinner. Both meals were awesome. I bought meatloaf mashed potatoes gravy & cabbage. On next one I bought lasagna, cabbage, and fried okra and rolls & sweet tea with both of them. Absolutely no complaints. Best food in the area. And best price. You can't beat it. But I was there at 11:30 and there was a line already and it was difficult finding parking spots. But it was worth it. I was very disappointed, when I went to cook the chicken I had purchased on Wednesday and it was rotten. Yuck 😋 the smell was nauseating 😵 Omg.
