Very nice golf course. Fairly priced. While very flat, it is nicely designed. Variety of holes, not many houses. Water in many holes to keep you in check. Fairways fade into Sandy and wooden areas. Quite decent conditions for a munny. I loved the greens. In great shape and good speed. With plenty of undulations to make them interesting and challenging. I will gladly come back when I am in the are and have the chance to play. I would rate it 4 stars, if not for: At the worse of COVID19, not enough carts to ride solo, although they put a plastic divider, but I was not comfortable. The course was at full capacity. Still the pace was good and steady up to the 10, when two young walking players tee up in front of us and that just slowed everything down as they then were waiting for the group in front, we for them, the ones behind for us, and so on. Note: I am all allowing youngsters in the course and for walking. I believe it doesn't affect the pace vs shared riding; but not like this. The cart lady saw them before we got to the 10th tee and reported to the ProShop. a ranger passed us on the 11th without saying anything, later passed back, without saying anything, the kids were still in front, waiting and holding up. I reached out to them and asked what were the doing and why they got in front. They politely said they could not go faster as the were waiting (well, of course) and that the pro shop allowed to play, sending them in front of us on the ten and suggested that I called the ProShop..I couldn't blame them if that was true, but Well, that is not right and doesn't make sense on a very busy day with groups packed one after an other and the sun setting in less than 2hrs. I called the ProShop, they said they were sending someone. We never got to see anyone and we kept on waiting on every shot to the end. Barely finished with the very last of light and several upset groups behind. That is just wrong. It messed up what would have been a great golf round and Saturday afternoon. When finishing, the club house and restroom were closed, so the parking lot's shrubs got plenty of post round action. When golfers have been out and have to go,...
Read moreFirst off I am critical on reviews. I'll begin with the Pro's: Golf staff was friendly and thats about it. Con's: No way this place should be able to justify $100+range balls for a round. Range balls are either used balls in rough shape or maroon Nitro's that can't be seen after they travel 100 yards in the air and you must hit off mats. I knew this was a muni when I booked online however no where did it disclose pricing information. The greens are dreadfully slow (typical of most muni courses BUT for the price they were charging, I had hopes it would be better). The layout is ok but there are some holes where the water comes into the fairway and unless you have an update GPS, beware because it encroaches significantly in landing areas and no warning. Finally, I have played many courses that have some waste areas (coquina especially in Florida) and those are usually firm packed crushed shell. Well they have what looked to be similar set ups in a couple of places but it is soft therefore because it isn't a bunker, no one takes care of these areas. So you may be in a washed out area, footprint or tire track. I know the simple answer is to not hit it there however some of these are just off the green so if you miss the green, good luck.
My main reason for giving it 2 stars is mainly the price. I was expecting much better and I know it's the busy season but it is a $40/round at MOST based on the condition...I'd even give it $50 in busy season but this is just taking advantage of people.
I would recommend many other venues in the area for around $100/round that would include range balls before I'd recommend anyone going there. Busy season or not you can get much more for $100 than this...
Read moreDay started with a gruff reception from the person at the pro shop counter. I guess I was not aware that he was doing me a favor to take my money to play. I was a single so I was told I had quite a wait. Settled in on the range with some practice balls. The range tee area was basically all dirt. After about 10 swings I was called to the first tee. The guy at the counter could have given me the heads up, but, no.
They do not offer a yardage book was even though the course is very quirky. If your course has blind shots and right angle dog legs you might want to consider offering one. Otherwise, golfers must hope for blind luck when they try to navigate the course.
To top it off, someone in my group left a club behind on the 4th hole. We discovered this on the 7th hole. Went back three groups and of course no one saw it. Tells you a bit about the place when a club is robbed in an early am round only 7 holes in!
If you want to play this course, team up with Someone who plays there regular. Otherwise it will take you 2 or 3 rounds to get a basic level of understanding the layout.
Oh, and someone should tell the groundscrew that the "Tournament Sunday" pin placements are not a good idea for casual weekend golf.
I will not be playing this...
