This review is ONLY about the AC side of Blevins A/C . I have used both the A/C and Electric services from blevins. I want to say the Electrical side is top notch. I would give them a 5star rating. Now on the to A/C service. I ordered a whole house dehumidifier for my 2100SQft. home. I was told by aprilaire and another AC company that the aprilaire 1830 was the size I needed for my home. So I purchased the unit. Anthony came out to install the unit. After the install the unit wasn't working as it should. The humidity wasn't coming down in the house. So I tried to work with Anthony to resolve the problem. He did call support for aprilaire. And after going talking with them they decided that the unit was undersized. The unit is a 70pint and should cover a 2800sqft. house. I wanted my humidity around 45 to 48 %. this unit was only getting it to 57%. that is what I started with , so it wasn't working at all. After talking with support myself. I was told that the unit needed to be installed per the recommended installation. Which is from return to return. It needs to work with the AC unit to achieve peak performance. Anthony installed it from return to supply. which I was told by aprilaire that causes a resistance from the supply air and the air coming from the dehumidifier. He did not install a drip pan under the dehumidifier.( he took the charge off for the drip pan) He used 12" duct which isn't recommended. And added reducer down to the 10" inlet So I asked Anthony to install it per manufacture . He straight out refused. I have a copy of the text and a lot of pictures to post. Also have an email from tech support stating the correct way to install is per the manual install glide. I added the correct duct work and put a drain pan under the dehumidifier and rerouted the drain line. The Dehumidifier is work as should now humidity is around 47%. The only thing I asked Anthony to do is install it the preferred method ( which is what he should have done in the beginning and we would not of had any problems) and he refused. I plan on sending a complaint to the Association. I will not use the A/C service again. And wish I could use the electric service because they are awesome. They fixed several issues I had. Plus was able to fix a problem that 2 other companies was not able to fix. But it is a family owned business.

VERY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Initially, I scheduled 2 weeks out for installation, so they offered to bring a portable AC unit to use until they could install the new unit. They ended up being able to come a week early, which was just in time for the 80+ degree week. I received a call and/or text message to tell me when the techincian(s) were on their way. The guys were very polite and kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up afterward. They also sent someone out to do a quality check to ensure everything was working properly and that I was completely satisfied. The dogs even approved as Riley came bearing peanut butter dog treats!

Adam showed up early around 9am in 24 degree weather to fix our unit. And stayed to make sure it was running well before he left. He explained what was needed and checked on the unit throughout the process. It would have been easy to just say we needed a whole new system but he didn’t he did a fantastic job. Update: it’s the next morning, Thursday, Jan 9th 18 degrees outside and everything is working fine! No ice no auxiliary heat kicking on. Thank you!

EDITED 6/25/25 Tony Blevins and I spoke about the situation and my dissatisfaction. A few days later he and the original technician returned and set everything right at no additional charge. They both worked about 2 hours. I'm still not thrilled at the price of over $800, but thankfully the work was completed without a squabble.

BEWARE! Astronomical prices. They'll get you over a barrel. I recently booked Blevin's Electric. Was quoted an $85 house call which seemed fair. I had mysterious issues... wall outlets worked, some ceiling fixtures worked, most didn't. When the technician arrived I said it would take "detective work" to find the problem. He disassembled 2 light/fan fixtures and one wall switch among other diagnostics. Suddenly ceiling lights began working... excellent; then off, then on and off, etc. Problem was an overloaded 20 Amp breaker tripping multiple times. The 20 Amp was replaced with a 30 Amp. It held. I walked in the kitchen and smelled smoke. The technician went to the attic; it was filled with smoke. Quickly a breaker was shut off. A wire in the attic had become too hot to touch, hence the burning. The damaged wire was replaced and the problems were "solved." Satisfied, the technician worked up the bill... but I still had 1 disassembled wall switch (working?), 2 disassembled ceiling fixtures (working?), and another ceiling fixture untouched (working??). The invoice read: "Standard troubleshooting or diagnostic with problem isolated to a single circuit." The total was $736.71 + the $85 house call. Total $821.71. WTF! Now I have to hire another electrician to finish the work. Their diagnostic work costs over $263.00 per hour... in Alabama??? The supervisor never returned my call. BEWARE! It's highway robbery. Jessi was VERY professional, informative, patient, polite, confident in his ability, etc(I COULD LITERALLY GO ON AND ON) Jessi has the most spectacular people skills I've really ever experienced with someone that has to deal with the public. I know coming into my house with 2 German shepherds barking, high energy, and what seems like chaos he was very VERY professional. Not to mention I called yesterday late in the evening to get some help with my ac and I was surprised I was seen so quickly. I would say Jessi went above and beyond to find the issue and left here doing the exact same thing to find the part I need. I recommend BLEVINS AC REPAIR ABOVE ALL ELSE. THE TRAINING JESSI GOT FOR THIS JOB SHOULD BE HOW ITS DONE EVERYWHERE. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL COMPANY AND EMPLOYEE!! He got my air back in working condition!! IF ANYONE NEEDS HVAC WORK, ELECTRICAL WORK, AC WORK, ETC PLEASE CALL BLEVINS AND ASK FOR JESSI!! I PROMISE YOU...
