Dixie Salvage Inc — Local services in Fort Payne

TERRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS. Bought a bathtub/shower from them and they claimed that if I have any issues or find any problems then to bring it back. Called them a few weeks later when the plumber came to install the drain and found two small crack in the corner. Call them and they refused to take it back and wanted me to pay $150 to have it fixed. All I wanted was to exchange it and buy another one from them and they refused. The owner was very unhelpful. Wes the salesman was very rude and hateful when I said that there guys could have made a mistake and missed the crack. Wes explained that they have the damaged ones fixed and resell to make a profit, all I wanted was to bring mine back to be repaired and by a new one. Either way they are still making a money. Have had several people tell me they bought one and it had cracks all in it, should have listened to them. The woman behind the counter needs a class on customer service. Rude and unprofessional. I own a small business and I'd never allow myself or anyone that works for me to treat anyone with the slightest bit of disrespect. I was taught at an early age, "Bad Business Is No Business." My experience... I try to buy from local establishments to help out the local community. I stopped by yesterday to buy some cabinets and countertops for a remodel. When I walked in, the only greeting I got was the woman behind the counter looking over her shoulder to the clock and telling me in a rude tone "We close in 5 minutes." I walked out. If I'd been shown the slightest bit of respect, I'd been more than happy to come back earlier another day when they were open, but I wasn't. I will gladly pay more somewhere else where they know how to treat...

A great place to shop for bargains and building supplies. A few of my friends and family frequently shop here, and generally have good experiences. However, I have to say that this business has the single most toxic workplace environment that I've ever been a part of, and that IS relevant to my review as I've seen how it effects the way business is conducted; therefore the experience and treatment of the customer(s).

I'm reluctant to leave this review, but I wouldn't feel right if I did not. I will say that in my experience this was not the fault of the owner or the lead sales manager, and I'd recommend that you deal directly with either of those two...
