I’m seeing some great reviews for general walkthroughs, but here’s what happened during my blackout night experience (and please know that it literally kills me to have to be a Karen right now):

They gave us a mini candle as opposed to the advertised glowstick, which is harder to hold in a way where everyone can see it. This would have been okay, except:

We were stuck in a group with three others we did not come with (making us a group of five, which was larger than the advertised two-to-four. Per advertisement, my friend and I should have been allowed to walk alone). Group of 3 was given the mini-candle. Because we didn’t know them and they weren’t told we were supposed to be with them, there were multiple times we were separated from our light source too focused on trying find our way back to them to experience what we were supposed to. It’s supposed to be limited light, not no light.

We got to a point where there were two doors that looked exactly the same. We waited. No actor came. So we picked one, and we ended up having to go through half of the attraction again. It was clear that this was not intentional because the scare actors were confused as to why we were back.

Both animatronics were WAY too close to people. I was hit in the head by the dragon and grabbed by the thigh by the clown. Two others in my group were also hit by the head or hands of the clown. Both animatronics also wait for you to get close enough, so there was no way to avoid being hit.

The fog zone was so dangerous. Again, candle, larger group than planned, and we got so lost both times we had to go through that actors were desperately trying to scream us towards where we had to go.

There was not enough glow tape for this event. Some ramps had them, but there were some pretty steep drops that were not marked at all.

When groups started running into each other or becoming separated, the actors were LOUD and firm in keeping people keep moving, even if that meant leaving your group behind. Again, not everyone received a glowstick or light source, so that meant wandering completely blind.

I’m sad because I was so excited for this event, and also because all of the actors were working so hard to make tonight fun, but I don’t think I will be coming back. I’m posting this in hopes that anything might get fixed in time for...

Would give it 0 stars if I could. It was One of the worst experiences to date with this location and staff. I Have gone to this one several times over the years and each year I’ve gone it seems to get worse. This year being the worst by far. Starting with the police officer at the entrance assaulting and harassing my female friend. Then he made us wait an inordinate amount of time to enter because he didn’t like how she responded to being harassed and touched. Then the workers did not know how to respond in a timely manner to someone having a serious (almost emergency level) panic attack and needing out asap (had to threaten to call the police to get them to respond quickly). To the manager talking down to and disregarding in a very disrespectful and rude way my female friend (the one who the police officer harassed and touched/assaulted) when she had a complaint and wanted a refund. Overall the worst experience to date at this location. Recommend anywhere else but this one. Don’t waste your time or $ on it potentially happening to you.

In response to the off handed and accusatory way this place chooses to respond should be a clear sign that it is not a good place to spend $ at. There was no attitude towards the ticket person. And we understand that we would have to wait long bc we bought tickets there instead of online. It doesn’t excuse the disgusting behavior by your rent-a-cop pig. And threatening legal action really? Interesting take seeing as it was your rent-a-cop that touched/assaulted my friend. It Also doesn’t excuse the total lack of skill or knowledge by the actors (most I assume are high school or young adults) in how to respond to someone having a panic attack (or other medical emergency). As for how we were treated after by said manager. That was at best condescending and rude. Nobody in that group has ever had any kind of panic attack up until that point. And of course we went through doorways we were told to go through. Again you obviously don’t know how someone having a panic attack thinks or operates during said attack. As for going back a few times over they years. Of course we did seeing as there aren’t many others in the general area. But don’t worry it won’t...

The Haunted Asylum is - by far - the best experience I’ve ever had when it comes to haunted attractions. Each year, I like to travel to different locations and not only have a good time for my birthday, but also rate and scale the level of horror aspect that each one provides. I am normally not someone that likes to provide 5 stars for fairness, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

We purchased Platinum VIP Tickets (40$ per person) and although I was hesitant on the purchase..it was worth every single penny. We were immediately taken into a different path away from the general crowd and sent in as soon as possible! To not spoil what you’ll see in there, all I can say is it is 100% an Asylum theme! They stuck to it the entire way through. They even caught the attention of my buddy Toby who HATES being scared and the actors were chanting his name the entire way through!! LOL. But there was one thing that caught my eye that sealed the deal for my 5 stars.

The first room we were supposed to enter, a Disabled Veteran was having issues making it through with his wheelchair, and we couldn’t pass the doorway. WHILE STILL IN CHARACTER, we were taken back through the ā€œElevator,ā€ that we originally entered through, and escorted to a different area. All the while the person taking us there was yelling, kicking wheelchairs around, and making us laugh and scream the whole time. I didn’t feel like I was in an attraction, I felt like another person in this…genuinely convincing asylum. Absolutely no criticism, everyone here has worked hard to give their customers the best bank for their buck, and I highly recommend this attraction for any future endeavors. You rocked it HYSTERIUM team! I’ll see you next year!

MY ONLY SUGGESTION! If Staff are available, it would be awesome if actors were pacing the lines scaring people as they enter the Asylum! There was one actor assigned to electronic scanners as seen in the photo attached....

I went to Hysterium tonight with my 9 year old son there was some pros and cons to this attraction so I’ll start with the pros: Great actors and engagement A lot of great jump scares Short wait time to get in ( we purchased the opening time slot) Cons: 1. The value for the money just wasn’t there for me Example: we spent $55 for two tickets and were done in like 18 minutes. I was so confused at the end thinking is this really it?? 2. There are two very dangerous animatronic machines. Example: One was a dragon that nearly collided with my son and I, which certainly to would have knocked us down it’s HUGE. The other I think was another HUGE one, a skeleton or a skeleton hand. I couldn’t tell because it literally reached out so far it hit me in the face and knocked my glass almost off my face and bent the nose pieces. Leaving a small scratch under my eye as well. I never saw it coming either. In the grand scheme I wouldn’t go again unless I had some free tickets due to the machines and how short it is. BUT the actors are so so good and it is scary.

Yo so we went last night and then we had a pretty good time I give it like a 8 out of 10. There was no extortion of any fashion, the cops were awesome, he was a great addition, as for the actual walkthrough I thought thought it was great and this in a 6.5 reflects the jump-scares everything else the storyline and how they would interact with the guests was spectacular if you get a chance go ahead and stop and it's a great time Happy Halloween šŸ‘»šŸŽƒ
