Discount Computer Store — Local services in Fort Worth

I took my computer in to see if the charger was bad. He took it into the office and came back out, not sure what the problem was, but informed me that it was probably the charger. But did not return the charger I had brought to him to check. He said he didn't have one that would work for my laptop. "Call me" in the morning and I'll try and locate one". The next day I returned,. and he sold me a used one for 40.00 that wouldn't power up. I returned the next day and he refunded me the 40.00, and told me he couldn't locate one. Then went off on a rant... about how Covid 19 was ruining his business. I am in business..I understand how inconvenient these days can be. I took my laptop to another repair service, and the found that the Ram just needed cleaning. pulled it , cleaned the terminals and put it back. (No charge.) I returned a few days later, and asked for my old charger... I was met with resentment and rage. First he said that his shop wasn't open and that I would have to return in 2 day's. Then he informed me that I had misdiagnosed the problem and that he wasn't responsible. All I wanted was my charger. BEWARE!!!!! There may be a short between the top of this guys...

I called this store to ask about a replacement PSU for my PC, and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. I was trying to explain a very real hardware issue, and despite giving specific details about my setup—including my GPU specs—I was talked down to, interrupted, and dismissed. The man on the phone acted like I had no idea what I was talking about, even though I was asking the right questions with a solid understanding of my build.

As a woman in tech and PC building, I’ve dealt with this kind of condescension before, but it’s still frustrating. I wasn’t looking for a lecture—I just needed to know if they had a compatible PSU in stock. If you’re a woman (or anyone who doesn’t match this guy’s idea of “tech-savvy”), don’t expect respectful treatment here.

I've been buying my laptop's here for years. No they are not the latest model I believe they are government surplus which means they have been used for a year or two. I still feel they are the highest quality and most reasonably priced laptop that I can find. I run a very successful photography company which means I store a lot of photos, they have always accommodated my needs with extra data storage added to the laptops.
