It's a nice gift shop well-stocked with the usual Redwoods gifts and they had pretty birdhouses, which is why we stopped. I was buying the birdhouse for my mother, who is disabled and was in the RV down the road. I had her card and was told I couldn't use a card without ID. I'd have to bring her WITH me to use her card (and her ID). It's very hard for her to walk, let alone get in and out of the RV, so that's why I got out. I went back down to get my card and ID because I left my purse in the RV for what I thought was a quick trip. Got the card and ID, got back to the shop and handed them over. My ID was scrutinized like I was crossing a border. She ran my card and I had to put in my pin anyway, so I couldn't quite understand the extra scrutiny. THEN, even though I had used my pin number and shown my ID, and even though there was no space for it, they required me to sign the bottom copy of my receipt. I hate nasty reviews and some people will honestly write bad reviews just to be pretty, but I have never had to jump through such hoops and been made to feel like I was a dirty, unkempt fraudster worthy of suspicion just to buy a birdhouse that was less than $20 (I was clean and presentable and have a 1 speeding ticket to my name). I don't know what person got away with what at that shop, but that kind of policy and customer service absolutely does not win over customers. I implore...
Read moreI had the weirdest experience here. I walked in, the only customer there and the lady working there was on a call. No biggie, it's a small business and a weekday and I'm sure she's the only one. I go around and find some things and 20 min or so later I have about $100.00 of items. I walk up to the counter and I figure she will check me out while on the phone or briefly put the phone down to help. Instead, she avoided eye contact and turned her back toward me. Surely this must be a mistake I think and I wait a few more minutes. After this I put everything back and walked out. I left the store without spending a dime and hear her continue to gossip with a friend while I drove off. How many more people has she done this too? Surely this is not a...
Read moreVery Cute little place right off the 101 Hwy on the scenic Avenue-of the Giants in Humbolt State Park. It has little cabins, even a big cabin and a few RV spots for RV's up 36ft. A great little gift shop as well! The young gal in the gift shop that checks you in is very sweet and VERY informative about the area! They have WiFi, clean bathrooms and even a little playground if you have children. Thank You Redcrest Resort for...
