Having spent many thousands of dollars on my two wedding dresses and went to Denver/Texas to find professional alterations with no luck. I was in a horrible situation due to allowing my wedding dress boutique in Denver to handle my dress alterations, they hacked both of my dresses up to the point one was ripped at the bust area and noticeable when the dress was on. The Denver boutique could offer no more help after the 8th fitting for alterations. I had three seamstresses (from the Denver boutique) offer and attempt to fix but with no luck. I brought my dresses back to durango, where I live and prayed that I could find someone to help me. Little did I know I would find the MOST talented, understanding and compassionate person to handle the job...Melissa! We had a luxury destination wedding in Mexico with only 6 days till we departed. I was an emotional mess thinking my dresses where unfixable and I would just have to "make it work" for the wedding. Melissa immediately got me in and started right away fixing the dresses. Both of my dresses needed complet alterations done. One needs to be let out and the ripped lace fixed due to the first two seamstresses who almost ruined the dress and altered too tight for my body. The attention Melissa gives to detail is unparalleled in the wedding alteration industry. After a few sleepless days/nights for Melissa, she was able to complete both dresses 2 days before departure. Wow is still all I can think of when I look back. My Matthew Christopher gown was $10k and my Calla Blanche gown was around $3k. That didn't include any alterations. The Denver bridal store charged me almost $2k just to preform alterations that almost ruined my gowns. I have pictures of the rips the denver store left me with and the after pics of how Melissa delicately fixed everything to perfection. I've posted pics of both my dresses and two gowns that attendents wore to the wedding as well, they also had them emergancy altered by Melissa. My experience with Melissa at Durango Couture was absolutely fantastic, and I am so glad I chose her for my wedding dress alterations. Melissa put incredible care into making my dress perfect. At my original pickup appointment, I was already thrilled with how my dress turned out. My dress had a small area of wrinkling at the waist (due to the type of fabric), and even after I had paid and taken my dress home, she reached out to let me know she had another idea to add boning to the area to make it even better. I brought it back, and thanks to her extra effort, it turned out truly flawless.

Melissa ensured I was happy with every single detail, and I never once felt rushed. She also shared helpful advice on caring for my wedding shoes and undergarments, and even offered to let me pick up my dress on a day she doesn’t usually open just to accommodate my schedule. Her communication across the several months of alterations was timely and reliable, and her skills with dress alterations are extraordinary.
