The potential to be a spectacular course. However, it wasn't in very good shape, especially the greens - they were very bushy ... it was like putting on shag carpet. Quite literally potentially the slowest greens I have ever played on. My other big issue is that you need a caddy (or maybe a sherpa) to help guide you around the course - a lot of blind and/or carry shots! They have a guide book, but it is lacking on key details on key holes. A few examples: The first par 5 is a severely down hill dogleg right - the guide only said "it would be wise to stay in the fairway" (duh!), but provided no alignment guide and there was no actual alignment guide either (I got lucky and ended up with a birdie) The 16th is a dogleg right par 4 with an elevated green - the tee shot is awkward, and the guide was decent on it (we won't talk about how poorly I executed though) ... however, for the elevated green the guide only spoke of a Bunker short left to avoid, and the middle of the green is good (duh!), but it failed to say JUST behind that elevated green is a 100+ foot cliff! Not wanting to be short to an elevated green, I took an extra club, saw it bounce somewhere on the right edge of the green, but never found my ball cuz it went over the cliff (had I known, I would have...

Let me just start by sayingāthe layout is absolutely stunning. Whoever designed this masterpiece mustāve been a farmer with a dream and a six-pack of Coors. Seriously, kudos. Youāll be jaw-dropped by the views before you even slice your first tee shot into the canyon.
But then⦠the greens. Oh sweet Moses, the greens. Theyāre deader than my great-grandfatherāGod rest his soulāand about as smooth as a Walmart parking lot in February. Watching your putt roll is like playing Plinko in a wind tunnel. Drop the ball and pray to the golf gods, because nobodyānobodyāknows where itās gonna end up.
And the fairways? Letās just say the grass called it quits a while ago. Itās basically a driving range with dirt patches and attitude. Your ball bounces like itās auditioning for a trampoline competition.
All that saidāI still kinda loved it? Itās like dating a supermodel with a black belt in gaslighting. Gorgeous, confusing, slightly abusive, but unforgettable.
Would I play it again? Only if I bring my putter, a shovel, and a priest.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreGave it 4 stars because the views and layout of this golf course are beyond amazing. No other holes/views like it in the state. Absolutely love it. However was really disappointed by the reconstruction of the dam causing the 3rd hole (an awesome par 5) to be eliminated which meant playing 3 par 3ās in a row (which was a little confusing, didnāt exactly know where to go). The fairways were in pretty bad shape. Pretty dry with a lot of patchy weeds. The greens seemed like they havenāt been cut in a couple days. They were about as slow of greens as Iāve ever putted on. Hopefully they get the course back into great shape. Iād like to come back after they figure out what theyāre going to do on that 3rd hole. Hopefully it comes back a little of what it used to be (an...
