Load up the dogs and explore Mingus Mountain. You can get to it either from Jerome or Prescott. Bring your interagency pass or $5 cash for the park fee. Also, the road up to Mingus is paved, but it does turn to dirt as you head towards the lake and view trail. It is washboardy and full of holes so make sure your car is ready to handle that. #azdogfriendly #dogs #love #dogsoftiktok #jerome #prescott #arizona #mountains #getoutside

Prescott National Forest⛺️🌲 There’s so much to do in and around Prescott National Forest. We feel like we haven’t even scratched the surface of the 1.25 million acre national forest!🌲🌳 Here are some of the things we’ve done: 🏕️ We camped at Potato Patch which is right by Mingus Mountain. We drove up Mingus Mountain and did a hike. We drove down to Jerome & stopped at a winery. On our way back to Phoenix we hit Tuzigoot National Monument 🏕️We camped at Lynx Lake & hiked Thumb Butte 🛶We’ve kayaked at Watson Lake What should we do next?📝 Reminders: 🥵Prescott can get hot! Please check the temperatures before hiking 🐻Wildlife call this forest home, ranging from snakes to mountain lions and bears 🚮Leave No Trace • • • • #prescottaz #prescottnationalforest #arizona #visitarizona #optoutside #explorearizona

The Mingus Mountain Picnic Area. Soooo beautiful from the monsoon blessings! Hang out and eat lunch under a covered picnic table, take a trail, continue on up the mountain for a beautiful drive! Continue on to Cherry, if you and your vehicle likes rough but not impossible roads, or camp at the campground on the north side of the road!

Easy getaway from Prescott or even Phoenix to beat the heat. They are clearing a large portion of the forest at the peak but there is still plenty of wilderness to enjoy. Great views and picnic areas. Also only a few minutes from Jerome for...

Do yourself a favor and go here! We walked the town of Jerome (wonderfully weird) before making the beautiful drive here to camp. Campsites were all close to restrooms and most had beautiful views. We woke up in the clouds and couldn’t have...
