Morenci Community Center — Local services in Four Corners States

This place is amazing! Such cool water play and slides. Unfortunately, we were discriminated against because of the clothes we wear (religious preference) and were told we can’t participate in the use of some of the equipment. The clothes we wore were meant for swimming and purchased from a swim/athletic company. Some of us were wearing T-shirts, which I guess is not considered appropriate swimwear at this location. They made us remove our 18 month old baby’s float vest to make sure it was approved by management (this may be common for this place - we don’t know because this was our first time). Not only that, but they told one of the girls with us that her hair was too long. We spoke with the manager who was able to clarify some details and allowed those who wanted to ride the slide go down after all. We didn’t notice the lifeguards picking on any other guests that were there, they seemed to be targeting our group. Great, friendly people, nice equipment. Hours are horrendous. Open from 4-9pm during the weekdays, and 7-5 on weekends. Honestly, who works out at 4Am? I don't think people want to expell their energy before a long day of work. They should Open an hour later and stay open an hour later. Let's not even talk about 5Pm close on weekends. What a joke. And lastly they're closing at 4Pm today which is Friday (normally closes at 9pm) for the "Black Friday Holiday" as I was told. Since when is Black Friday a holiday?. Again, a nice place, but their hours seriously need to be revamped. Seems like they just don't like to stay open. They look for any reason to close early or just be closed. It's ridiculous that a power outage happened (I get that they had to close for the outage) but the power was restored by 2PM. They don't close until 5 and there was a sign on the door saying they'll be closed the rest of the day. Literally the last 4 times I've been here they're closing 5 hours early or just not open. This is not a "free"gym! I pay money to use...

they wont even let us sit until we are fourteen 😒😡?! For some weird reason now they have a time to get to the rock-wall and the fun zone too! even the manager said that we could use the equipment upstairs as long as it wasn’t electrical. he even gave me training to use the non electrical equipment. and the reason they got mad at us because we were sitting because we wanted to put music and we were walking for a long time. there wasnt seats available. they got mad at us because we were sitting on seats near the water fountain.
