This is one of the best places in Cedar Breaks to take photos of the canyon. The direction of the sun right before sunset time is the absolute best time to go take photos. The light bounces off the red rocks and it is really camera friendly. Dress warm! This spot is always windy and people are taken off guard when they go out to the lookout because of the high wind conditions. It would be good to bring a tripod for long photo shots. Please do not go out onto the ledge area. The National Park Service has contacted me and told me that it's not allowed and you can be fined for it. When I first moved to the area I didn't know because it's not marked. It can be very dangerous out there and they don't want anyone getting hurt. With the right zoom lens you can see the old log cabin at Point Supreme.

Park is open at night. This is a good spot to view the Milky Way in the summer, with a nice wide view to the south. You get some lights from Cedar City to the west on long exposures, but the skies are very dark. This is a nice viewpoint without a lot of trees near the parking lot or overlook, so it wasn't too creepy to walk around at night. Drive very carefully on the way up at night. I saw no less than a dozen deer on and near the road on my way up. Lots of blind curves and stuff on 14.

This is the North View of Cedar Breaks and probably the best view to look at the amphitheater. It is a great view and if you have the chance you need to stop and look. It has a good size parking lot and if needed some “Port a Potties” if you need to use the restroom. Currently, there is a small ranger station here as well that when a ranger is there you can get information about the park if needed. All in all, a great lookout to see the view.
