This was a “one and done” course for me. The course was in great shape, but our experience prior to the round was disappointing, to say the least. The lady in the pro shop was not who you want greeting your guests. The starter was unprofessional and arrogant. He greeted my playing partner with a “what’s up?” We’re trying to figure out your course as first time guests. That’s what’s up! How about trying “Welcome to Oakwood. Have you played here before?”
Also, there were no refreshment carts on the course. Our tee time was at 12:30 pm. The only place to get a cold drink was in the pro shop cooler, but we discovered they closed at 2 pm, right before we got to the turn.

The starter was ridiculously rude…wouldn’t give us a cart key until about 5 minutes until we teed off…leaving us to have to walk a ways to practice chipping and putting. We had an enjoyable round of 9 holes with friends but when we finished we were met with criticism from the starter with how slow we played. 2 hours and 15 minutes is not a slow pace.
