I wanted to write this review in hopes that more people will use Steve's services to fix whatever electronic's (especially TVs).
Some background, I was storing my friend's Samsung Q60 in my basement just so he had someplace to store it while he was looking for a new place to live. And then Hurricane Ida happened and caused a flood in my basement (sump pump failure) and damaged the TV in question. After cleaning it up and assessing the damage, I decided to turn on the tv two weeks later. The TV itself turned on, but the panel had hard water stains which couldn't be reached unless you opened up the TV. I usually fix PCs and smaller electronics, but no amount of time or videos on Youtube university was going to help me fix a 65 inch Flatscreen TV. So I decided to look for repair shops in the area. I brought my tv to UBREAKIFIX (franchise repair shop) and they wouldn't take it. I found Steve through a Google search and the reviews said not only does he fix old and new TVs, but it would be done in at least two days to a week.
Well, long story short, the price of the repair was definitely reasonable and the turnaround time was phenomenal (day and half). Would highly recommend Steve and his services!...
Read moreAfter calling several places, this was the only one that actually picked up. The office he works at is actually his home.
Steve, who owns Steve's TV repair is a very hard working and honest man. He charges an upfront $40 deposit that WILL go towards your repair cost. I took in my 50" Phillips plasma that had a screen blur after the TV warmed up and I had hoped to have it repaired. We talked for a little and he got to know me a little and understood I was having some financial hardships, as I am going to college. He took to TV and told me to call him in a few days.
After some negotiations and updates on the TV he informed me that the repairs would be much more than what he quoted me on, and that it was almost impossible to fix correctly. He told me that, for the same price he just so happened to have another plasma for sale that I could buy for the same cost of the original repairs. The TV he sold me has a 90 warranty on it, and so far it has worked wonderfully.
He is an extremely knowledgeable man and has a plethora of equipment that can diagnose almost every issue. Give him your time and your TV and you're bound to get a better deal than most...
Read moreI checked for tv repair shops near me (Jackson NJ) to no avail. I contacted Samsung for a reputable repair shop, again to no avail. I called the GEEKs and after 40 mins. on the phone (mostly on hold) they were going to transfer me to the sales dept. (I assume to sell me a new tv) without diagnosing my tv) I looked outside of my area and found Steve's TV & Electronics in Somerset NJ (approx. 1 hour 15 mins with traffic) with consistently top notch reviews, looked too good to be true...they were true! I made the appt. with him to drop off my 55" Samsung and he contacted me regarding the cost to repair and if ok'd it would be ready for pickup in two days at a very reasonable cost. My tv works fine and I am very pleased with the fast service, value, and all around nice guy. The trip was worth it....
