I recently bought a dining table from Sara Sells. My husband rented a uhaul truck to pick up the large table and was told per their policy to leave the table boxed and inspect it at home. Upon immediately unboxing the table, we noticed a large scratch down the surface of the table (a foot long) and a chipped piece of wood on one of the table’s support beams. I immediately contacted Sara Sells team and was notified after a bit I could receive a 10% discount off the price or exchange the table at my own cost and that I should have inspected the table prior to bringing it home (which is not what their policy states nor is it what my husband was told when picking the table up). I told them I was very frustrated because the cost of renting another truck to exchange the table was more than the discount they were offering me so I felt forced to keep a damaged product.
After much more back and forth, they finally offered to deliver me another table at no cost. I waited weeks for the delivery and when it arrived, the delivery team unboxed the new table which was even more damaged than the original table. The delivery team took away the damaged replacement table and left me with the original table. I again immediately contacted the Sara Sells team and waited yet again for them to respond. They then told me the delivery team was turning around to come pick up the original table so I cancelled plans and waited at home for them to never show up.
I then waited over another week for another pick up date to be scheduled which was today. Again I cancelled plans and arranged my schedule to be home and the delivery team cancelled their pick up at 345pm. I again contacted the Sara Sells team with no response. The customer service and communication is absolutely horrible and I can’t imagine that there aren’t many more damaged products out there if 2/2 of the tables I received were extensively damaged. So now I am still carefully storing a damaged product (so that nothing further happens to it) in my home waiting for this issue to be resolved. It has been well over a month of issues and my family has had to live without a dining table as I am skeptical Sara Sells will ever end up resolving this issue and don’t want to buy a new table from someone else while I still have this 96inch table taking...
Read moreUpdate to my review….I upgraded my overall review to 4 stars as the company has followed up with me to fix the issue. The initial concern about their response time was partially on me as I missed their initial email response back to me. All said, they worked to fix the issue and make it right. Their response and solution to the problem was 5 stars but the overall experience was 4. Again, I believe in most cases you can expect a 5 star experience with Sara Sells but I would advise that you inspect any boxed items before leaving the warehouse. This will ensure a great experience. Thanks to the company for making this right.
Sara Sells is a great concept. Keep in mind the furnishing are nice and I assume discounted, but still can be pricey. Our credenza we purchased was still over $1500 so the expectation is that it would be a nice piece. The purpose of this review is not to steer you away from Sara Sells but to advise you to inspect the furniture out of the box before leaving the sale. I made my purchase, they loaded it up and was encouraged to move on as they had a line of cars waiting to be loaded. That was a mistake! This is a very big and heavy piece which required help to remove it from my truck and bring it in the house. We unboxed it and found two fairly significant scratches/dings. One on the side and one on the top. I immediately contacted them to let them know. I heard back from them on the following Monday or Tuesday offering the opportunity for me to bring it back to their warehouse between Monday and Thursday. Keep in mind, it is a 1.5 hour round-trip from my house. I immediately responded to say due to my work schedule over the next two weeks that would not be possible for me and I was hoping they would accommodate me on a Saturday. I kept the credenza in my foyer, waiting for a response as this piece was going upstairs. I waited several weeks and never received a response so I assumed that was not an option. Therefore, I have an expensive credenza that is defective. So the bottom line is that they are not very flexible and I would advise you to make them open, all boxes, and inspect your items...
Read moreWorst experience here. I was waiting with my hand raised in front of a wall mirror for at least 30 minutes. A woman finally came up, said she’d pull it from the back, and explained where it’d be waiting for me to purchase with my name on it. We saw her talking to a lot of other customers after that, so we went up to her again to confirm that she had the mirror. She said it was out in the back and she was going to take it off the wall right then. When we went to check out 30 minutes later, the mirror wasn’t there. The person we were checking out with flagged her down, and she said she was going to take it off the wall right then. She comes back and tells the cashier that the mirror is sold out. As we went to leave, we ran into her and she lied and said she had gone to take it off the wall right after we approached her the second time. We know this a lie, because we watched the cashier speak to her, her say she had to go grab it, and then come back and say it was sold out. I don’t appreciate being lied to. I am upset I’d already purchased other items here. I wish I hadn’t given them a dime. I will...
