Pennsylvania has numerous historical locations/museums to offer and visiting the Vintage Wings hangar should be high on your list! You truly take a step back in time when you walk inside. You will be greeted by a warm welcome and for a small donation you can tour a WWII veteran C-53 transport airplane and other WWII vehicles. The main attraction is the airplane, but I keep going back for the friendly members that will take the time to tell you the story of this very special aircraft. Their main mission is to preserve this flying piece WWII history, and the men and women who flew and worked on this aircraft. This is a grass roots, but also fast-growing museum. The restoration quality that they achieved with their C-53 Skytrooper “Beach City Baby” is second to none, but the enthusiasm, creativity, and hard-work that the crew there are putting into their museum facility itself have created something just as magnificent on the ground.
