I’ve visited many Aviation Museums around the US, and I can say that the folks at Vintage Wings have done something very special there in Franklin, Pa. This is a grass roots, but also fast-growing museum. The restoration quality that they achieved with their C-53 Skytrooper “Beach City Baby” is second to none, but the enthusiasm, creativity, and hard-work that the crew there are putting into their museum facility itself have created something just as magnificent on the ground. Super special and knowledgeable people here… A testament to hard-work, dedication, and patriotism. Friendly and fun people offering an education like no other.

A more genuine group of hard-working and knowledgeable people you will not find. This museum and its people are the real deal when it comes to preserving the stories and artifacts of the past, and educating younger generations about the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform. A beautifully presented museum made possible by hard work and history. Truly a gem, more than worth going a bit out of your way for if you’re not in the area.

Aviation history enthusiasts will love this museum! Such a beautiful restoration on the C53 and so many other historic pieces to see! Friendly, knowledgeable people ready to share Beach City Baby’s history and answer any questions. I can’t wait to go back!

Pennsylvania has numerous historical locations/museums to offer and visiting the Vintage Wings hangar should be high on your list! You truly take a step back in time when you walk inside. You will be greeted by a warm welcome and for a small donation you can tour a WWII veteran C-53 transport airplane and other WWII vehicles. The main attraction is the airplane, but I keep going back for the friendly members that will take the time to tell you the story of this very special aircraft. Their main mission is to preserve this flying piece WWII history, and the men and women who flew and worked on this aircraft. The WWII veterans will soon be gone but with places like this their stories will live on forever. There are also opportunities to donate your time to be a part of the team! I’ve been to a bunch of aviation museums around the tristate area, but this one...
