Excellent food and service that make us look forward to our next trip to this friendly, spacious restaurant. The clear and expansive views of the mountains, sky, and the runways from each table are lovely. Our party of 3 each ordered the seafood platter which more than satisfied our craving for well-prepared, garlicky fish, scallops, and shrimp. Stuffed mushroom caps that came with the platter were tender and satisfying. The side salads that were included with our dinners were absolutely fresh, crispy and generously mixed with vegetables. The pickled banana peppers that garnished the salads were very aromatic and flavorful and likely from the restaurant’s garden. I think I could have eaten 3 of the side salads. The semolina bread was the star of the bread basket; we couldn’t resist asking for extra servings. Served warm with locally produced butter, we were grateful for the extra slices. Being extra hungry, we ordered the gnocchi to share. Soft, pillowy and nestled in a housemade sauce that was perfectly simmered and sweet, we all agreed that it was a wonderful choice. There are a wide range of adult beverages and soft drinks to choose from. My only regret was that I did not order one of the specials as they were very inviting by the descriptions. The sweet tooth won out for some of our party and a fried ice cream and the raspberry dessert that was like a chimichanga was just enough to share after the feast of the entrees and the sides. Be sure to take a peek at the charming vegetable garden on your way in. Tessa was the perfect host and very accommodating server. If you haven’t tried this terrific venue, you are missing out! We will surely be back when visiting...
Read moreWhen we arrived Vince met us and introduced himself as the owner. A waitress came and said she would take our drink order but another waitress would be waiting on us. We waited about 10 minutes as we watched a waitress cleaning the table behind us of the dirty dishes. Turned out she was our waitress. She took our order. We waited over a half hour when she finally brought us our main course. I explained we never received our salads or bread. She apologized. We ask for silverware. Our food was room temperature. The baked potato would not melt the butter. My husbands rib eye steak was chewy. We never did get our bread. When I put on the tip it reflected the poor service we received. We ask to speak to the owner to let them know about our experience. I have always believed in the old saying if you don’t know what is wrong you can’t fix it. The owner we spoke to, Vinces fiancé, listened until I said the tip reflected the service we got, it was 10% of the bill. She said that was unfortunate as our waitress was new and we were not her only table. Said they were busy. We have been there a number of times when they were a lot busier. Said it was our fault for not speaking up sooner so they could make right. Not sure how you make it right the fact we waited so long and had to remind the waitress we never received our salads. Said the food always comes out of the kitchen hot. It that the case our food sat there a long time before we received it. An...
Read moreWe haven't had a bad experience like this in decades. It started out good but started to go downhill when it became painfully obvious the place was understaffed to the point that everyone in the main dining area was on the very low end of priority while they kept bringing freshly cooked food out to a party of 15 in their private dining area. We had reservations (party of 6) so it's not like we came in unannounced. When the main course came out about an hour and a half after we placed our order, our granddaughter's medium rare file mignon was way overcooked and she said it even tasted bad; we told the waitress it was so late we didn't want another steak; after she went back to the kitchen the owner came over and asked how everything was; I told him about the overcooked steak, and rather than apologize he said he would have another out in 4 minutes; we said no, and he left; when the waitress came with the bill the steak was still on it; I walked over to the kitchen and asked her why it wasn't taken off the bill, and the owner came running out saying the steak was almost ready; I reminded him we didn't want it, and handed him the bill; finally they took the steak off the bill; then when half our party was out the door and I was paying the bill he came out with another steak, and my wife politely told him he could eat it. It is sad that an owner/manager can be so arrogant that he keeps doing things that makes things worse. We will...
