Stopped by for some produce and ice cream while visiting Fredericksburg. Staff was very friendly and greeted me soon as walking up. They had 2 different peach varieties at this time. There's also a lot of other produce from peas, onions, zucchini, squash, watermelons, pickled vegetables, etc.. In addition to produce, they had other items ranging from soap, lotions, air fresheners, jams, salsas, etc... Lastly, they had homemade ice cream, both blackberry and peach. Surprisingly, they said the blackberry was more popular and that was evidenced as it was sold out. Bought the peach ice cream and it tasted great. It was very fresh, creamy, not too sweet, and contained large chunks of peaches. I have to come back for the blackberry ice cream if it tastes even better than the peach. For the peaches, they were very sweet and juicy. They need to ripen up a few more days, but it was already sweet. I'll come back again this peach season and try more of their other produce.

Yes we did! We had both the Peach Ice-cream & blackberry Ice-cream, both delicious. My favorite is the peach it has nice size peach chunks, the blackberry has lots of tiny seeds but that didn't stop any of us. They have several peach box sizes for purchase starting at $10 up to over $40 I bought a large box so I could bring home & share with others. We also bought a yellow watermelon & it was delightful. They have many other products from surrounding farms. I needed to put a gift basket together so I also purchased Lemon/rosemary goat cheese & a plain one too along with a peach scented candle & Lavender cream made from goat milk. The peaches were so juicy & sweet 😋 I can't wait to buy another box.

We called them on Wednesday, June 5th and asked when they would have big peaches. She said to come Friday, June 7th, between 8:30-9 am and they would have them. We drove an hour from San Antonio to get some for us and for neighbors. When we got there, we asked for the big peaches, and a young girl went to the back and brought out a $27 one-eighth bushel of these tiny, less than 2" peaches. See photo. We bought them thinking they might still have some flavor; they had NO flavor even though they were ripe. $27 for tiny, flavorless peaches, in addition to our time and gas. What a waste of time.

July 4, 2025 I took the opportunity today to drive out to Donald Eckhardt orchards to pick up some fruit, peaches, cantaloupes, watermelon, etc. from their stand.

I called a few days earlier to find out their hours and spoke to a young lady, Sharon, this morning to make sure they were open today, given, there was some inclement weather in the area.

In any event, I was able to drive out to Fredericksburg, from San Antonio on IH-10, take the US87 hwy north, and easily found the stand off US87 north about 3 miles south of Fredericksburg right off the highway.

I was promptly greeted by the staff, and I will say the staff was very helpful and friendly. They have peaches, cantaloupes, watermelon, breads, etc. Everything being sold was all appropriately priced. Note, I didn't think the items were overly priced, or under priced.

I can't say enough about this stop, and the fruit; as it was very tasty. I definitely will be back next year during the time frame, of May to September to buy more of their latest harvest.

I definitely would recommend you stop at the Eckhardt orchards stand. It's a very large stand - it has enough room to walk around in, as you can tell by the pictures, and take something home with you.

I think you're really going to enjoy the produce, as it has a real good flavor.

I hope you choose to visit and your visit is as good or...

Have made three trips out to Fredericksburg. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. First time we got Fredericksburg peaches. Absolutely wonderful! Second time we went they had peaches out of Lubbock, not as good as Fredericksburg peaches but Good. This last time they had peaches out of Colorado and they were horrible. You'd get better at HEB. Additionally, on their FB page they indicated they had plentiful Huge watermelons. We went the same day and they had a total of about 6 watermelons. All very small. I took a seedless one from Mason that was very average. Again, you get similar at HEB. Difficult to rate my experience. Again, staff is outstanding. The peaches and watermelons are hit and miss. Facebook page should be updated daily to indicate the actual stock on hand. We drove from Marion so we were disappointed in the...
