Update: 3 days later my nails are already popping off. I’ve NEVER had Gel X come off before from anywhere
Beautiful place but I’m just not very pleased with the service. I asked for short-medium coffin/ballerina shaped nails in a pale yellow with white chrome.
I showed the front desk worker a picture of what I wanted color wise so he could help me pick a color. He then started was showing me golden chrome and I had to explain I wanted pale yellow with white pearl chrome.
Eventually he got it but picked out a rubber duck yellow. I showed him the image again and he assured me the color was right.
Once I sat down the nail tech did a GREAT job prepping my nails. Shape started out great but when I said I wanted it shorter and then took a drill bit to the center of my nail bc he said he thinks I would want a tapered square. Which wasn’t what I had asked for, when I asked him about it he said it’s trust him. The center of the nail was shorter than the edges and the edges were sharpe and tall. I asked if he could bring the edges in and he only slightly filed them. At this point they were so short you couldn’t do much with the shape.
Then once we added the color the first 2 coats were streaky (which is fine) but the last coat really showcased just how dark yellow the polish was. I voiced my concern and asked if it would look like the color would look like the image and he said yes. I trusted the process but even after the chrome it was SO yellow and not at all the image I showed.
I voiced my concern at the end and all the nail tech said was “you should’ve told me” which I did try to voice my concern multiple times but was told to “trust him” - which to be fair I should I have said something sooner about the color but I’m used to salons doing one nail first as a test and showing you before sticking your whole hand under the light
This place was so clean, they do a great job prepping the nails, but they could not execute a simple request. I left and immediately went somewhere else to get them fixed. They left so bad and commented how bad the shape was and helped me to reshape them and change the color - if the original nail tech st universal saw I didn’t like them at the end he should have offered to change the shape and color and not just get up and leave and walk to the back to eat lunch...
Read moreUnfortunately do not recommend this place at all. I did come in on a day where there were storms and their systems were down, so I do feel bad that they could not see appointments. However, they were super disorganized. Aside from that, the tech who did my pedicure and head spa treatment was not good. My polish on my toes is chunky. The head spa portion is really what led me to leave this review. It is supposed to be ultra relaxing but was the exact opposite. The tech was extremely rough with my head and my hair, constantly getting it tangled and then brushing it very roughly which caused my hair to break and rip out. She was playing the "spa music" on her phone, being very loud with all of her tools, it sounded like she was just throwing stuff into the hair bowl. Also, I had asked for the "Shampoo Relaxing" treatment but got one that spent more than half of the time on a "facial" instead, I am picky with what goes on my skin so I didn't love this as all of the products they were using were random things with TJ Max stickers still on them. The room that they do the head spa treatments in also has the washer and dryer, the washer sounded like it was over loaded and was crazy loud several times during the service. Long story short, spend the little bit of extra money to go to a true head spa, this experience very much so felt like they just tried to add on an extra service because they know it's popular but didn't want to invest in actually training their techs or using...
Read moreMy mom and I were really excited to try out this new nail spa. I’ve been growing out my natural nails for almost a year, and I made it very clear to the nail tech that I wanted to protect my natural nails and asked him to be careful while filing. Unfortunately, things did not go as expected.
It took about 45 minutes to build a very thick layer of dip powder. When he began filing my pinky nail, I immediately noticed it was becoming thin and asked him again to please avoid filing down my natural nail. He initially argued with me, then said he would be more cautious. I decided to trust him and let him continue.
When he finished filing all ten fingers, I looked down and realized half of my natural nails had been filed away—my nails were visibly damaged and extremely thin. I was shocked and upset, and asked to speak to the manager. The manager looked at my nails and even admitted he was shocked by the extent of the damage.
However, I was only offered a 20% discount for the inconvenience. I wasn’t expecting a free service, but I do feel more could have been done to acknowledge the damage caused—especially after I had expressed my concerns multiple times. I will now have to cut off all my nails and start over after nearly a year of growth.
Sadly, I will not be returning or recommending this salon to friends or family. The lack of accountability and minimal effort to make things right was incredibly...
