My mother and I had THE VERY BEST experience with Jamal Vann of Gainesville Towing Service on November 10, 2024. Our car broke down and I had to pull over on a very busy and dangerous interstate, I-75 S., just south of Gainesville on the second day of a two day drive (780 miles) from SW Virginia to Florida. It was a very stressful experience UNTIL Jamal called and let us know that he was on his way to tow our car. My mother is 82 years old and doesn't like long road trips or busy roads. The trip was very difficult for my mother even before our car broke down and had to be towed. From the very first contact, Jamal was like a guardian angel being sent to us. He was very calm and kind on the phone and in person, and turned a very stressful situation into one of our favorite experiences of ALL TIME. Jamal is one of our favorite people! I was very distressed because I knew the situation was very upsetting for my mother. Cars were flying by us on I-75 and I was concerned that they may hit my car (and us sitting in it) while waiting for a tow truck. Jamal is one of the nicest and kindest people we have ever met. Jamal towed our car (flat bed tow) just under 100 miles to my daughter's house. My mother and I rode in the front of the tow truck with Jamal. He is a great driver and made us feel safe while driving on I-75 S. surrounded by fast and dangerous drivers whipping in and out of lanes. Being towed by Jamal was our favorite part of our three day drive to Florida. Jamal Vann is THE VERY BEST! Jamal takes pride in the great job that he does and it shows. He is a very hard worker and makes sure that your car is safe and secured on the bed of the tow truck. We felt no stress once Jamal arrived and towed us and our car to my daughter's house. We are very thankful that Jamal was working that day and that he was sent to rescue us. We will always remember his kindness and expertise in towing. Jamal will forever be our HERO!!!!! Read moreNo, on Gainesville Towing. I called last night to schedule a pickup this morning between 7am and 8am due to early morning appointments. Shortly after 8am I called to verify they were on the way. They said they dont know nothing about it. I had an apoointment at 830am at my sons school that we missed because of it. The man I spoke to told me I could call back in and make the payment with them once the mileage was calculated. Driver shows up almost at 9am, decent timing. However, the driver asked me to make a payment on some app in his phone. No card reader, I did not feel comfortable doing that since I was told I could make the payment via phone call, and could not even identify the app. Then he gave me his cell to speak to a woman. She said either way she is doing the same thing he is doing, I said that is fine, but at least over the phone I know I am speaking with and making payment with the business itself. She was rude and proceeded to belittle me for not feeling comfortable entering my card on a cell phone not identifiable with their business. I said, either you want my business or not, she said tell him to drop the car, so I did. Read moreI was on my way to drop my granddaughters off at a friends house just off of 29th Terrace. When I pulled onto 29th Terrace, a Gainesville Towing truck had just picked up a vehicle and the truch was blocking the road. The driver was talking with another man and had his head turned away from me. After a while, I waved and the man who was talking to the driver looked at me and just continued on with his conversation as if I wasn't even there. I was starting to get annoyed as all the driver had to do was back up just two feet and I would have been able to go past them but the driver just continued to talk to the man (I assume it was the customer). I then gently honked my horn to let the driver know I was there and he did turn his head and look directly at me. Rather than backing up, he just continued to talk with the customer. I had to then wait for him to finish their conversation which lasted another 30 seconds or more. How rude!! You know how if you treat someone badly they will tell, on the average 16 people about your bad experience. Well, I'm they type of person that makes up for all those who don't tell anybody.
