I truly wanted to love Starstruck Farm. The creative potential here is undeniable—the acreage, the legacy, the rustic charm—it could be magical. But right now, it’s being severely mismanaged.
The decor feels stuck in the 90s. Worn towels and pillows should be discarded. Surfaces—floors, walls, and windows—are filthy. Cobwebs surround every corner, walls need painting, and the barn-turned-lodging floor hasn’t seen a power washer in far too long.
Photos are misleading. They’re professionally staged with plants and seating that don’t exist. It feels dishonest and disappointing upon arrival.
Staffing is critically sparse. A 46-acre property needs a robust team. I saw only three staff members during my stay—and they were also servicing other properties. The shortfall is obvious everywhere.
This place appears to have opened before it was truly ready. It still looks the same as 35 years ago, with no meaningful upgrades to meet modern guest expectations.
Even simple enhancements are missing. There’s no walking path—just dead-end roads and junk piles. I encountered three or four: old tools, debris, broken vehicles. It’s difficult to enjoy fresh air when it’s cluttered with chaos.

Suggestions That Could Transform This Place: • Hire. Hire. Hire. Even budget-friendly or work-trade staff would help. Cleaners, groundskeepers, and cooks are urgent needs. • Clean. Clean. Clean. Weekly power washing, daily dusting, and regular window washes are basics. • Update the Decor. Soft, warm styling can bring comfort without losing the rustic charm. • Improve the Restaurant. Country cooking should taste good—hire skilled cooks, focus on flavor and presentation. • Uniforms for Staff. Coordinated shirts or name tags help guests know who to approach. • Invest in the Experience. Flowered walking trails, birdhouses, benches—give guests more to explore. • Add a small back deck to each horse stall suite with a table and comfortable chairs. This enables expansion of the bathroom area so the shower curtain doesn’t cling uncomfortably. It’s a small fix with big comfort implications.

Where This Place Shines: Staying in a Horse Barn is Unique and Memorable. Rustic, bold, and unlike any other lodging. Excellent Soundproofing. Stalls are private and peaceful—no outside noise. Farm Atmosphere is Naturally Calming. Even unfinished, the environment soothes. Location is Ideal. Just 30 miles from Nashville, this has major potential as an outdoor/country music/event venue. Accommodation Variety Adds Flexibility. From horse-stall rooms to RV, tent, and A-frame stays, there’s something for everyone. Friendly Staff Like Dee Are Standouts. Her warmth and hospitality are real strengths—she deserves to be recognized. Free Soda, Ice & Popcorn Are a Nice Touch. Keep that area clean and welcoming—it adds thoughtful charm.
⸻
Final Thoughts: Right now, the branding is selling a dream—and the reality doesn’t match. If ownership reinvests in staffing, cleanliness, atmosphere, and genuine country hospitality, this property could really flourish.
Because with vision and care, Starstruck Farm can be a gem.

Not gonna lie, I heard this place had some issues. Mediocre food, running out of food, and some other stuff. So going into it I wasn't expecting to come out happy. Especially knowing the price. But I wanted to try it out. They must have changed some stuff around because my experience was the opposite. They were super friendly when we came in, it is picnic table style dining so be prepared to maybe eat with some strangers which is fine and makes it interesting. But if you are introverted maybe just mention that and I'm sure they will accommodate. Anyway the food was awesome! They have a salad area, an Italian food area, a Mexican taco bar style setup, a BBQ area and then a southern comfort food area. Even some dessert! The price is a little on the high side, 19 dollars for adults and 14 for younger kids. But I would say if you go hungry and want a wide variety of food you will get your money's worth. Plus the price is the same regardless of what you drink so if you think about it it's not bad. If you go to other sit down places you have to choose a specific meal and don't get the entire buffet and you pay extra for soda so by the time you add that in its probably pretty average.
If I had to pick some foods to point out issues I would start with the shells and cheese. They are large shells like you would stuff with meat and spaghetti sauce and serve on their own but it just has cheese and most of it had ran out and into the bin they were sitting in so they weren't great. A solid normal Mac and cheese would do well. The creamed potatoes were overly runny and the rolls were a little TO yeasty....
...but they bring fresh cowboy bread out to the table so who cares about rolls. And everything else was solid and very tasty. My favorite was the pulled pork and the spicy BBQ sauce. The canoli was the icing on the cake.
They also had live music and were taking song requests when we were dining there but I'm not sure if it's a nightly thing. Although the price is a little high, but justified, we will totally be heading back to this...
Read moreLet me start off by saying such a cute idea but unfortunately for $200 in star bright just wasn’t worth it. First, our little A frame was dirty and un kept. Our room had carpet with burn holes from the wood stove the bed frames and door frames were chewed by animals possibly dogs. Our tv WiFi never worked and our poor window unit just couldn’t keep it cool. Yes I know sound like some complaining but I did get to compare it to the other units on the other side of the field and they were upgraded with nice floors and a whole lot better air. So, if you’re going to stay then I would stay over there. Another complaint would be the food at jbobs. the service was great but when we reserved, it said a breakfast Buffett, that didn’t exist. After we paid $54 for not so great food we looked at an email that had been sent the night before at 11pm, which we were already in our rooms asleep by that time, that’s says “ new changes as of July 30th” no Buffett, for breakfast, but the website still advertises it. Third, the bath houses were completely disgusting, bugs, trash, and stopped up sinks to the rim. Fourth, the RV park is trash. This place needs better cleaners and better management that will stay on top of things. Sorry so long...
