Dollar General — Local services in Galveston

2 stars for being convenient, however the employees at this store clearly do not want to be there and are rude to the customers. I frequent the store as I am a local and it is on my way home. There are 2 older employees (male and female) that rarely show a smile or greet you when you walk up to the register. Then there is a Hispanic woman with a rude and snappy attitude who thinks it is okay to yell at customers. The aisles are often blocked and it is hard to navigate the store with a cart. The entrance to the registers is oddly placed where the line falls into the main aisle and it is difficult to maneuver the carts into. How about you start the lines where the cash register begins (specifically for the self checkout) rather than making customers awkwardly move the cart through a narrow path and then turn the cart in an accessible manner...

There is one female who is rather tall, and slender, with long graying hair who is downright rude. She barely acknowledges you when you come to the register to pay and there's never as much as a "thank you" from her when you leave. That being said, all the other staff are always warm, friendly, professional and can't do enough for you. If having difficulty finding an item they don't just tell you where it is, they take time from what they are doing and show you where the item is. They are all wonderful, it's those friendly staff members who keep me coming back to Dollar General. In regards to the store sometimes being a little untidy it's usually when the staff are refilling the shelves from boxes on the floor, but any one of them are quick to apologize while trying to clear the boxes out...

1 star for the sorriest customer service. My girl friend went in to buy baby formula and got bit serval times by mosquitoes. Which ain’t a big deal (we’re in Texas) but mentioning it to the older guy with tattoos on his arms on 9/25/21 at 9pm his response was “well next time put on repellent when you come in”… wow to a woman?? Your old self working at the dollar store and still have not grasped the very thing that would consider you a gentleman or someone who contributes to Society! And that’s respect! Don’t shop here Seven seas is down the road and has more to offer! And to the old “boy” if you haven’t got it, you never will...
