It's the closest to my home, so I frequent it the most, multiple times a week. Unfortunately, the store is a total disaster and it's like this every day, all hours of the day, never changing. It is never clean nor is it organized. The tall carts, that new stock is put on, to then bring out to the floor to restock shelves, might sit on the floor for days at a time, never being moved or unloaded. Not only is it not aesthetically pleasing, but it has caused trips & falls, bumping into it & then into other items, which is most definitely not pleasurable. These carts also make it impossible to maneuver a buggy and then lastly, it blocks items on the shelves that are trying to be shopped. I don't feel like as a customer, its my place to physically be moving these large carts, just to be able to look for the items that I am shopping for. Not to mention, more times than not, I am physically not able to move these carts, from them being so full and heavy, which is not only annoying, but sales are obviously not being made. But what if a customer was to get hurt from trying to move one of these out of the way, just to get to the shelf that its blocking? In my opinion, these carts are truly a hazard and definitely a pain. There's also stock all in the floor. I'm guessing this stock has finally been removed from carts, but instead of placing said items in the proper place, they are just placed/thrown on the floor, at least two and three deep from the shelf out into the floor, sometimes more. (Pillows, massive bags of dog food, bottles of oil, boxes of makeup, small and big items alike) If the shelves become full, while restocking, then the extra stock should be placed in the back, for back stock. Again with this being an every day occurrence, it makes it impossible to shop and/or maneuver a buggy and if for nothing else, everyone's safety, shoppers and staff included, this should be a top priority. All this stock in the floor and on the heavy rolling carts, are only going to continue to cause more trips and falls, more blocking of merchandise, less sales and just disarray. Items that have made it to the shelves, are falling off the shelves and the shelves are just completely disorganized. I do think some of these issues is lack of staff, but also a lot of these problems are due to just pure laziness. I have had multiple people tell me that even though this store is closer to them, just like me, they will purposely go out of their way to shop another DG location or an entirely different store altogether, due to the issues I have listed above, because they refuse to shop in a store that is...
Read moreIf you've seen one Dollar General you've pretty much seen them all and believe me they want to be seen. They are becoming as a commonality in Alabama and I've seen many within (2-3) miles of one another. One thing that has ALWAYS IRKED me is that when they have (3) count them THREE REGISTERS and have peoeple lined all the way back to aisles toward the back of the store, WHY do they seldomly open more than ONE!! I went into a Dollar General in Kimberly and noone was around to ring me up. There was a NOTE that said - "SQUEEZE ME" and a DOG TOY was sitting next to it. I counted Three Staff Members on Duty and there were at least (2) people behind me waiting to be checked out as well. Jeeze, get on your JOB people. We know y'all get caught up and busy with counting till and stocking/inventory but let's micro manage a little better about when we do...
Read moreI love shopping at DG....BUT lately I have been dissatisfied because the two stores near me seem to always be out of lots of items. The shelves and ailes are messy with many ailes blocked by dollies stacked high with boxes of stock waiting to be unloaded while the shelves have lots of bare areas. I spend a lot of money at DG with multiple visits a week usually. More than once recently I have had to go to two different locations to get everything on my list as one store was out of several of the items I needed. Very frustrating. I have been told management blames it on the fact that they aren't allowed to hire enough help to keep the shelves stocked. If that is true DG needs to rectify that before they start losing business. I stopped shopping at Walmart because they're too greedy to hire enough cashiers. I would hate to find DG going...
